After a host of mk4s and a mk2 gti I fancied something a bit different so went and bought a polo gti.
3dr

all the usual GTi extras: xenon's, climate ect.

Needs a few bits doing to it, ie bumper respray ect, but got it quite cheap so will work on them bits as i go.

customary first purchase pic, the poor little thing was scared of the tarmac

Thanks Peter

I havnt had chance to get on for a long while. busy xmas period at work and so on. thought i best buy a car with not having one since the start of december.

nearly bought a z3 Msport, but changed my mind at the last minute and bought the polo. i had a polo 6n2 for my first car, and always wanted a 6n2 gti, so when this came along at a price too good to refuse i had to buy it.

in some ways i prefer it to the golf, its more involving to drive, actually wants to go round corners. wheels spins a bit too easily and gearbox is a bad as the golf for feel.

it feels quick enough without being fast. if that makes sense.

its pulls smooth and nippy, direct round corners. to says it has 3 foot of suspension.

interior quality is as good as the golf, the dash, dials ect are the same. has climate, chrome dials, xenons and all the other usual gti features. so does feel alot of car for what it is.

There nice, but in my personal opinion i dont think there fast.. But a good looker!

Its still faster than a golf standard. [:p] its 3bhp per ton up on the GTI Turbo. and 30 bhp per ton up on the gttdi 115.

and corners better.

but i know what you mean something really special about the lupo gti. one of my all time favourite cars. couldnt find one with the right specs for under 5k, wasnt prepared to pay that for a 8 year old car. might get one eventually though.

oh look whos back!

did you miss me? [:p]...lol

after a bit of counseling i managed to curb her fear of tarmac(and the help of coilovers)(it will be sat lower when the new wheels are fitted but whilst they settle and with the MOT due thought i may as well leave it raised a fair bit)

wheels will be split down and refurbed over summer, then used as winters, as they have nearly new tyres

only other mods are LED sidelights and rear wiper Delete(cheap job from halfrauds, just to see if i liked i or not, will order a glass piece at some point)

will get some pics of the summer wheels up soon.

wheels have already been bought [H]

will stand me at more than the car is worth one fitted though [:-*]

they are wheels that include alot scene tax, but gain a lot of scene points [H]

not sure on any shows yet, depends how quick i can get the wheels sorted and the paintwork..

Hopefully will be very shiny when i finish. i have already lost skin on two fingers and im still on the first one [cry]

Alright Alex. that kind of adds to their appeal. you dont see many of them, dont think i have ever seen a modified one, apart from at a show and iv only ever seen a few standard ones on the road. so shouldnt be too hard to make it stand out from the small crowd.

this is far from sorted. however it was well priced. There is a scrape on the rear quarter and on the arch edge that needs attention, and the rear bumper had been parked 'closely' to a few things in the past.. [:S]

will be seeing Jake eventually. just want to make sure i dont need to alter the rear arches for the wheels first, or it will probably crack the new paint.
