Hi there,

Thinking of buying myself at golf mk4 gt tdi 130 or 150 an need a few questions answering.

Are there any differences between tho two other than 20bhp and different wheels?

Is the 150 just a mapped differently or does it have a better turbo etc?

I can find a 130 with 60,000 miles or a 150 with winter pack, 73,000 miles both look good with FSH.

130 is £400 cheaper but both are still within budget. Which 1 should i be more intrested in?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The main differences are:

130 has GT1749va turbo, sidemount intercooler, 150 has the GT1749vb and a frontmount intercooler.

The 150 has been known to be vulnerable to cam wear, although there doesn't seem to ba an obvious reason on paper why just the 150 seems to have the problems. Alot would say all PDs are just as prone.

A 130 will map to around 180bhp max, 150s, with the better turbo, have been known to nudge 195-200 after just a map. If you're thinking of going for a hybrid or big turbo down the line then a clean 130 for better pennies than a sought-after 150 would be the one to go for, as they share the same pipework, MAF, inlet, blah blah.

You won't disadvantage yourself by buying either. Just get as good a car as you can, be it ASZ or ARL.

Hope this helps.
