Hi people :)

Welcome to my showcase thread, It's a VW Bora TDI SE in silver.

Mods to date:

  • [*]Debadged, Badges vinyled gloss black, page 1
[*]Pioneer AVIC-HD1BT Double din system fitted, page 1
[*]New Key, carbon fibre wrapped, page 1
    [*]Front badge carbon fibre wrapped
[*]Rear badge carbon fibre wrapped and backing plate colour coded
[*]Washed, polished, waxed, then picture wh0ring! page 1
[*]Osram Nightbreaker bulbs fitted, page 1
[*]Centre console/headunit surround carbon fibre wrapped, page 1
[*]Machine polished, 4motion splitter/lower lip fitted and roof wrapped matte black, page 1
[*]New wheels, painted, then machine polished, page 2
    [*]Recaro's fitted, page 2

Collected her a few days ago, has 124k on the clocks, runs sweetly and is in awesome condition for the age!

Body is mint, only has 1 tiny dent on boot. Only other downsides are horrible chrome mirror covers, arm rest lid is broken and the cd player is an aftermarket sony, would prefer the OEM one with the cd changer......or a double din display

Now for some pics, not great, will take some better pics after she's been washed and coated

Mirrors vinyled black

Couldn't get the chrome covers off, glued on like crazy and don't want to break anything :(

Posted Image

Posted Image

Badges and mirrors won't be staying gloss black, just did it for now because I don't like chrome and I was bored lol

This was an early Christmas/Birthday present from the family! :)

Nice vinyl skills! Did you use a heat gun to do the curves?

Well jealous of your steering wheel, i've ended up with one of the plasticcy ones.... really miss the stitched leather of my old polo gti wheel

Cheers guys :)

dirt_monkey, I used a hair dryer and skills for the curves [;)] I've had a lot of practise from my old car as I was always vinyling lol.

Time for another small update:

Got some pressies through the post :p

Carbon fibre vinyl, a new case for my key, and a turbo keyring :D

I was sitting waiting for the big meal, so I cracked on:

Old Key

New Key taken apart

Carbon Fibre

Though for some reason, even though I only replaced the plastic casing (internals/key still the same), the car won't start as the immobiliser is activated.....

So I put the key back into the old case, and it works

I don't get it!!!

BTW Merry Christmas everyone [:)]

Mould!! Cleaned.

Front Grill primered:

Tip: It's a good idea to heat up your paint cans as it warms the can, expands air, therefore making the spray come out smoother and giving a better finish..............just don't forget it so that the can nearly explodes!!!! lol

Sprayed my grill but finish was crap because of the ruined can. Finished product on next post.

Cleaned the engine bay up aswell!

The paint finish on the grill is really poor, will have to do it again, but will do the bottom vents then aswell!

I think I may have to de-carbon the front badge, blends in too much.
