Hi there

Recently a mate of mine purchased Coilovers and they really
have done wonders to his car. It?s not a Volkswagen but infact a Peugeot 106
Quicksilver but it has been slammed 95mm and he can still get people in the
back.

I?m planning on getting money together and purchasing myself
19?s for my Volkswagen Bora and making the most of the arch space. Along with
these wheels im going to be getting myself Coilovers but this is where the
problem starts.

I have been recommended KW Version 1 Coilovers along with a Neuspeed 25mm Sway Bar to really get the most out of the car. Im
unsure what a Sway Bar actually is and why I would need one if im going to be
getting Coilovers anyway?

Would someone be able to tell me where I
could purchase this aswell and let me know how much im looking at spending?

Cheers!

Cheers for a reply lads

Im going to check out demontweeks and look into it. Im hoping to get hold of some fairly soon to make the difference.

Do you recommend buying a sway bar? I would get one if it was necessary
but im unsure if im actually going to need one. The car is going to be
on 19s and slammed as much as possible so i reckon it might be worth
looking into it. What do you think?

to find KW V.1 Coilovers, i didnt think it would be so hard !

Good choice of suspension components IMO.

I fitted a 25mm rear Neuspeed ARB to my 2.0 Bora and it made a great deal of difference even on std. suspension components. Well recommended. Having fitted a 28mm bar to my Passat, i can say there is not really that much difference to warrant the extra expense IMO. The Neuspeed rear bars are an easy DIY fit.

If I were to get coilovers (hopefully for my next car), they would be KW V1's. I have only heard extremely good things about them , especially regarding their comfort.

If you are having trouble getting hold of KW V1's, speak to Big Boys Toys here: http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/70/ShowForum.aspx I doubt you fancy a trip down, but they do an amazing price of ?699 fitted for KW V1's for forum members, maybe they can do you a good price on delivery instead?

I would recommend Awesome Gti for the purchase of the Neuspeed ARB. I have bought both of mine from them and received very good service. Just check stock levels by phone before ordering to avoid dissapointment.

the words "bbs lm's" and "cheep" do not come together, unless it's hookey.

shame as i would have them tomorow if they were under a grand with good tyres.

Unfortunately these are ' only ' 18s. I am looking for 19" BBS LMs.
With the help of these coilovers they should look the business!

TopGear looks like the place to be when getting hold of wheels!

Phone them up and ask about 19" fitment. Most wheel shops only order stock in for a firm sale, they're not going to keep several ?10K's worth of wheels in stock except for display purposes or particular wheels that sell very regularly. BBS LMs in 19" probably don't fly off the shelves, nice as they are!

I must admit this are lovely looking wheels and im sure they will look great in 19" on a Silver Bora

The question is will they effect the ride quality of the car? I know they will but is it drastic?

Does everyone think if the cash is there then these are the wheels to be going for?

For the admiring stares you will get (or the car will get) as you drive about, does it matter? [:p] Go for it! [Y]

Thats true mate. This is one of the reasons im wanting to get myself a
nice set of 19"s but at the same time im not wanting the ride quality
to be terrible.

I will find it hard to believe that it would be terrible with KW
Version1s along with a rear sway bar. Do you recommend the front sway
bar? Some people have said its recommended where as some have said its
not really necessary!
