Key fob!

I bought a empty key fob off ebay because my keyring loop was broken and it just looked tatty.

If i swap the chip out into the new one and just keep the top half of my old one with the blade and immobiliser chip will this all work still? Kind of confused and dont want to try it incase it all goes wrong!

Help appreciated

yes it should do as really its all your old componenets[Y]

Yes it works. I did exactly that as I was worried that i would damage the immobilizer chip if I tried to remove it.
