Blimey what a result , joined in on the Briskoda group buy a short while ago and had my car booked into Jabba sport yesterday for a custom re-map , they seemed to think my car has a bigger turbo fitted as the boost came in a bit late but held on longer , I dont know the history of the car as I have only had it a month or so , one thing I do know is that the clutch isnt going to last long with this much torque !

Flywheel BHP 221

Wheel BHP 187

Torque 456.9Nm = about 335 lb ft

Even with the talk of there rolling road reading high it's pretty good

Glad you're happy with your remapped car! A tuned PD150 is a great all round car.[:D]

Sorry to say though that yet again I think those figures are wildly optimistic. All this talk of a new dyno and figures are still literally incredible[:S]. Would be interested to see what results it would achieve on a RR day at a more independent dyno with some similar cars top compare to.

OK, mine was done a year ago by Superchips and dynoed at 165bhp out of the box.

When completed at was 190bhp and 272lb/ft. A couple of months ago on their dyno it ran at 193bhp and 277lb/ft. It goes like the clappers.[:D]

I suspect your car is closer to these figures as Jabba are just tweaking the same mapping parameters as their competitors - there isn't a magic route to big numbers as far as I am aware unless you start changing mechanical bits.

perhaps its made a difference if it has as they suspected , a bigger turbo fitted ?? perhaps I will see about putting it on another rolling road one day , not that I'm really bothered about the figures , I'm very happy with the way it goes...

The big turbo ones that make that kind of power also have bigger
injectors and tend to smoke like billy o. If this car does indeed have
a bigger turbo then why is it not already mapped for that turbo? Noone
is going to go to the length of fitting a bigger turbo and not get it
mapped. VW themselves are unlikely to stick a bigger turbo on these
figures just don't add up. The stock vnt-17 turbo will not do over
200bhp end of story. I hope you do have that kind of power but in
reality its not (unless they've tucked a 50shot of nos in there
somewhere too!)

They all smoke a bit. But with the more highly tuned ones they tend to
smoke even more. If your power is genuine then I'd suggest getting an
uprated clutch asap. I ran my standard clutch with nitrous (231bhp and
346lb/ft) and it was ok but when we changed the clutch we could see the
damage it had started to cause.

My PD TDI150 dynoed 165bhp as stock and 180bhp after a smoke-free tuningbox fitted. Most remaped TDI150's around here range from 185-190bhp. +200bhp is only possible with uprated hardware, especially the turbo. +220bhp needs other serious hardware fitted (or nitro).

Could you scan and post the RR graph..?

wow! That's some 55hp off a remap! The difference between the dark blue and lighter blue lines is amazing.

And the shape of the curve is so different to the other jabba'd pd150's, that show a virtually dead linear line to the power curve.

I reckon you must have some special hardware on board, fella! Lucky boooger!

It's funny that I had my Golf at the same kind of rr, and it dynoed stock at 165bhp/367Nm, not far from those figures...

But the remaped version is just out of this world, just like a PD TDI130 remap (190bhp) someone showed here earlier...which makes me think that either Jabbasport knoes something that the other tuners worldwide don't know of or the rr just goes crazy all the sudden when measuring remaped cars...

Congrats for the "new" car and thanks for the graph.

i have a PD130, this engine is very similiar to the 150 and my 130 uses the same injectors as the 150 as ive compared part numbers. i have a bigger turbo with a huge fmic and ive only squeezed 206bhp out of it original maf with 90k, new one may give a couple more bhp(but its genuine as on the same rolling road with revo i had 170bhp which is about right.

the injectors are the limiting factor here, according to vagcom my injectors are at full flow under full throttle. so 220 is very optomistic with just a remapp.

Why is 55hp off a remap on a diesel so hard to believe........???

Plenty of PD130's running about with 185hp aint there?

It made 15hp over stock std, approx 10%, so if yo assume it makes 10% over after, that it is approx 199hp?

Sounds about right, and 49hp gain is amazing for the cash isn't it?

Depends on whether you believe the pre figure which I don't. There's no
way that all these cars coming out of the factory and have 165bhp. As
has been said several times already the hardware is the limiting factor
which makes 55bhp impossible. The 130's don't usually see 185bhp more
like 170-175 but sometimes a little higher. You can't just assume that
because 1 engine gets 'x' power over standard then another one will get
the same increase. I don't know why you find it hard to believe that
Jabba's rollers just read high.

Mine did dyno at 165bhp plain stock on a similar rr as the Jabbasport one, as most PD TDI150's do really around here in every kind of rollers (Vamag, Maha, Rotronics, etc)... On the same rollers most PD TDI130?s dyno from 135-140bhp and other manufacturer engines such as HDI's and such even dyno below the official figures.

After the tb fitted I got 179bhp and a remaped (Upsolute) PD TDI150 on the same rr showed 187bhp. Do you think these figures are not realistic ones..?

What we surely don't see around here are massive (+50bhp) gains after just a remap! That makes me suspicious that the Jabba rollers have some kind of different setup when they measure the altered engines...

Anyway the best way to figure out if that Golf is really that powerful is to just run it besides a "normal" remaped one from another tuner. Plain and simple.
