The carbonio has a K+n filter on which gives it a nice growl and when coming off accelerator or changing changing gear will give you a nice whoosh noise! However get it remapped and turn up the boost and that whoosh becomes a very loud and pedestrian scary whoosh!

I have found that it doesn't make as nice noise as my old fiesta zetec-s with a pipercross on, but it does sound nice, maybe even like a scooby growl[:D]

It defiantley lets the car breath better,it wont give great gains in torque/bhp if at all but it pics up better especially on a nice cool evening/morning

So far the modded box is winning, as i' not a fan of the loud whoosh! unless I drive around under 2000 rpm so as not to wake up the turbo!

i havent noticed a great gain in performance, but does seem to pick up a bit better and has lost some of that turbo lag!!..i wanted the growl and yes it does remind me of a scooby!! i am happy with it..ive only had it on since lunch time 2day so ill see how it goes through the week when i drive about more cause i havent been far 2day!! [^] ill sort some pictures out really soon!

You can reverse the DV, basically it ends up on its side.

It sounded very strange when I tried it so I put it back pronto!

Forge actually recommended I reversed it when I complained about the top pipe rubbing on the engine cover.

Same thoughts as you though Tim, it was just way too chirpy.

i still have the standard vw jobby in there so whether it'll sound any different with a forge DV or something i don't know. If your car isn't remapped etc then its not too much of i loud noise, more of a fluttering sound, like a wastegate almost.

LOl.. Deadlock.. we seem to be doing the very same mods at the same time ! I got my milltek a week or so before you and now we are both trying to decide between carbonio or modding the standard airbox ! i'm thinkin the same as you too.. mod the standard box.. if i'm not happy with that, i'll go for the carbonio.
