Cruise control depends on what year the car is and whether it's drive by wire or not. http://www.golfmk4.co.uk/cc_compatibility_chart.htm

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dgace/control_stalk.htm There's a fitting guide.

The climate control is another kettle of fish. It's a really big job and generally not worthwhile doing. Sure someone on here has done it, but it's a costly affair.

Couple of things you can do to squeeze a little more from the 115bhp engine.

Carbonio Cold Air Intake from www.awesome-gti.com helps the engine breathe more and certainly makes it sound better.

Superchips do something...but it's about ?300 for very small increases of a couple of hp.

Main things to do are improve the handling (suspension, anti roll bars) and looks (kit, wheels).

Have a look on www.borabase.com for some ideas!

Good luck with your car, post some pics in members rides for us all to see!

thanks for the response. Chrome Dials first - then Alloys or some description - 17" or 18"? Don't really fancy any of the body kits for the Bora.

18" Rims, 35mm drop and get the valances colour coded. Or buy a GLI front Valance from the GB's.

Great shame you don't fancy any of the bodykits [:(]

Get it looking like Simon's! (Baker21) [;)]... His is the sweetest looking Bora i've seen.

It can't be faulted and if you get your's looking anywhere near that good you'll be on to a right winner! [:D]

I am not sure how big the whole system is, but you can buy the climate control head unit and blower box for 400 euros. I am not sure how much more that needs to be intsalled, but I think everything is there that is needed to doa install of climate.

Here is a rough translation using babelfish of the core text, you can slso get this for the Golf.

If your Bora in series already an air conditioning system possesses it however gladly a Climatronik would have then is this the suitable offer for you.

This set consists ventilation box, the set of cables between ventilation box and operating sector and the operating sector of the complete Climatronik - in the center console. You find the suitable set of cables for the connection of the ventilation box, the exhaust expensive equipment and temperature sensor likewise in our Shop.

The change lasts with 2 men approx.. 8 hours and consists essentially of:

empty the Klimaanlage(Kaeltemittel)

Development instrument panel (radio and combination instrument develop before)

exchange the complete ventilation box

Connection and installation of the operating sector and that pertinent set of cables

Connection of the ventilation box with optionally available set of cables

Installation of all parts in reverse order

Connection exhaust expensive equipment and temperature sensor

fill the air conditioning system

Test run

Do Boras come with the same wood trim as the golfs?

Bora S has plastic trim

Bora SE, Highline & V6 4-Mo has aluminium type trim like mine

Bora Sport & V5 has wood trim

Hope this helps.
