Hi guys, the other week I noticed my car was jerking a fair bit when I was changing gear between 1st -2nd and 2nd-3rd . I nursed it around for a week till I managed to spend some time on it .

It had a fault code of P0501 static fault, the vehicle speed sensor was loose in the gearbox so I tightened that up along with checking the wiring for any visual defects and I changed the transmission fluid for some fresh Motul.

Doing this immediately helped alot with the jerkiness however it was slightly there(probably exagurated by the poly engine mounts). The fault code persisted to stay after this so I assumed it needed a new sensor. I ordered just the top half as I saw it was capable of splitting down and replaced just the sensor section. The fault code is still there and I can't seem to do anything to clear it. When I've got it scanned aswell, it's reading the gear as neutral and doing 0mph at all times,Any ideas on what Im doing wrong or should do next? Thanks for any help

Replying to this hoping it may help people in the future, if youre experiencing my symptoms and done what I have, the fix for me was the Gala speed wire at the back of the radio. I followed a forum about connecting the gala wire to a radio antenna booster , this was causing all the issues, immediately remedied after disconnecting
