It is a pain though when you're selling, as you'll now know..... you own a lovely mint motor that's well looked after, full history and with all the leather, alloys and goodies that you could wish for and your average no brain punter looks in their Parkers price guide and says "ooooh, i'm not sure, book value is three pounds less than your asking........ummm........ i think i'll leave it"

Nice one tea boy, go and get yerself a skinny wheeled, no power, cloth trimmed motor, save yerself three quid and get a fleet car that's been hammered, run on eastern bloc fuel from tesco and serviced at 'Daves tyre and exhaust center'.

Not a bad idea, i've already had people on ebay touting for the ally trim. Trouble is, i sold off all of the original alloys and other bits as i upgraded!!

What I did with my old car was to swap them + cash, but then it depends on how far the other person is and if their kit is in good nic..

I too expressed interest in your car for my flatmate, but due to her
lack of NCB and the mods on the car, she was unable to get insurance.

Though over the weekend we found a 2001 Y plate, 3 door, silver, Recaro Leather, Climate and Sunroof with 30K for ?10,000

She is now poised to place an order with Shaq for the ali trim, so if
you would like to swap your interior mods over, I'm sure we could come
to an agreement.

I've finally got rid of my old sdi today so im a happy chap, got a p/x
with a 2000 w reg polo 1.0 and the guy paid 2000 on top for the sdi, I
think i got a very good result over all, and on top of it my brother
gets a car which will be cheap insurance (group 2) which will be good
when he passes.

FINALLY!!!!!

Had loads of enquiries from eBay punters, mostly wanting to part -ex their vehicle against mine, or even do a straight swap.

But today a guy called Rob is driving up from Norwich to see the motor.

He reckons he's a cash buyer and will pay there and then if he likes it.

Its a 4 hour drive from Norwich, and the car is a minter.....so i'm pretty sure we have a deal.

Excellent, chuffed for ya buddy. Still think its a bit low, but I suppose comparing to what mine went for and the lieage, it sounds like a similar deal to mine... guy comes up from far far away, as serious as can be, and takes her away[]
