Went to Blueflame exhaust's today and had a cat back fitted [<)], i am made up with it, the sound is brilliant, nice and throtty when booting it but not much different when going 80mph on the motorway, just what i wanted.[]

Cost ?210 fitted, im sure they will do one for a 1.6 as they seem very handy with making things fit by looking in the workshop yesterday and the cars they were working on.

What downpipe you gonna get mate?

I like the look of that but I'm in Newcastle and its a bit far to go - I would go for it if there was somewhere nearer - especially for that price - much better than the milltek price! However is it louder than the milltek?? I'm not wanting much more noise than my standard to be honest - I'm only changing cos my orig one is on its way out.

Im prop going to get the blueflame down pipe, the noise isnt much different than standard just make the car sound more powerful it DOSNT sound like a jap exhaust or anything like that.Im positive that it is just the same as a miltek is, as ive been in a few golfs with milteks and they sound the same. They do mail order and they sell them on ebay, you could just get someone local to you to fit it.

I just checked and it's 160 miles from mine - I might just do it it'll only cost about a full tank of petroleum there and back - probs better than paying for postage from somewhere then paying to get it fitted.

I think unless anyone can suggest somewhere nearer to me who do a similar deal on a quietish cat-back, then there's a road trip on the cards next month.
