When driving along on my own and the MPG readout reaches a 'milestone' like 50 mpg I often cheer to myself!! [:D]

My mate admitted that he does it too in his Golf.

Very disappointing when having to climb back up a hill though!

I used too, but not anymore.[:I]

But I do cry if it drops below 45mpg, got it down to 34mph on sunday[:(]

A friend was quite chuffed when he got 28mpg out of his A3 1.8T SPORT, until I called him over to look at mine showing 50mpg, & we'd done the same run [:D]

The day I get 50mpg out of my 1.8T will be the same day I sh*t a golden brick.

Having said that if it did happen I would cheer. I have personal challenges most days. The other day I jumped up to touch a beam at work and managed it first attempt.

After a small congratulatory bow to myself I realised that I'm 30 and shouldn't be happy about such small things anymore.

You'd be surprised what 'sad' games you start playing when you own a V6... it's alright for all you TDI owners... I cheer if I manage to maintain anything around 30MPG... Managed to get 40 one day, by resetting the average count when I already got on the motorway!!!

I average 50-60 mpg from a full tank (filled up top to the last drop). My daily averages on MPG differ. I just lurve it!

what engine do you have?

It's a 115 PD
