I had this happen on my 07 Mk5 Golf 1.9Tdi aseveral years ago.
Itvs not particularly uncommon in later cars 05 on that use the quick fit push connectors on the joins between the fixed pipes and intercooler and the connecting rubber hoses that are held together by a, spring steel "C" clip.
In high mileage cars the vibration and movement of rhe hoses causes the hard steel clip to wear away the pressed aluminium lugs on the hose ends until the extra flexing causes boost issues and ultimately they wont retain and will blow off. Generally it's only the hose ends that are damaged and and a new hose cures tbe issue.

or you go for the big crimp sleeve solution...it's one of the solutions too... i don't know how long that lasts though.
