I used the Autotrader website, if i remember correctly 4 or 5 of the quotes i got were less than the ones i got by ringing around myself! Worth a try.

Greenlight only insure drivers who are 21 or over, I would say try
tesco`s as I`m 19 and I have just taken out a policy with them with all
my mods declared for ?1600. The most expensive quote I got was for
?6145.53 !

Otherwise I would say try Bell, E-sure or Admiral.

good luck mate

well i can put a few different addresses like my grans, etc.... but they all seem to be only about ?100 difference so it aint much saving going on whn the insurance is about ?3000. Adrian Flux i havnt yet tried so imma try that one now, also Dubs what car have u got that u have insured for 1600?

I`ve got my 1.9 insured for 1600, took me some time to find a decent
price as most insurance comps wanted over ?2k, but I am a named driver
and not the policy holder as it would be too expensive taking the
policy out on my own with all my mods declared. And make sure you have
protected NCB.

also try this site http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ as it searches loads of comps for a quote.

I Hae just tried that site on a GTI and the cheepest i can find is ?2600 maybe its because i am searching insurance with me being the policy holder? also do you no have to have at least 4 years ncb to protect it, if not let me know how to potect it as it sounds usefull, chers mate

Not sure abount how many years you need to have for protected NCB, my
dad has 11 years so I used his and got them protected aswell, can`t you
use someone in your family as the policy holder? - will work out to be
ALOT cheaper. Insurance for yourself on a GTI is going to cost you and
arm and leg[:^)]

well at the moment i am with norwich union, with 1NCB and pass plus and its ?1200 for my 1.6, the only other person in my family that driver really is my uncle, who has had 2 crashes i the last 2 years so i think it would make it a lot worse if i went with him, lol

Take a look at Norwich Union, they offer something called a Rapid bonus quote, if you`re a certain age (18-21 i think) looking for fully comp insurance, do an online quote and it should say you are eligable for this, click it and it`ll re-quote you. I got mega cheap quotes for past cars of mine but just purchased a Bora and Zurich did the cheapest/best for me.

before i bought my golf i was insured with norwich union on my old 1.3 escort on a rapid bonus policy which was the cheapest i could find and i got a full years no claims after 9 months. however when i phoned up to get a quote for my 1.8T they told me they wouldn''t insure anyone on this car under the age of 21.
