Borrowed the in laws 3 tonne 4.2TD Landcruiser Amazon and drove to Cornwall and back. 15-18mpg I reckon [:(]

Some people scurry out of the way, others openly laugh at how massive it is!!

I can always remember TDI-Lover telling me about his Audi S4. He reckons he used to be lucky to get 165miles out of a TANK. He does have a heavy foot tho.

i think any car would drink petrol if you drive it hard enough. i've filled my clio up to the brim (?35 of optimax) and the least ive done on it is about 140 miles lol. and thats with a little 1.4 :O

oh ye and i used my dads merc (c200k) to go to manchester and back. full fill up with optimax was ?53 iirc, and i did 142 mph there and back pretty much all the way (30 miles each way). got back home and petrol was just over half full i think.

er since when? even as standard if you give them enough stick they drink the fuel like anything, just like most other cars do when driven hard.

Well if a 1400 is bad on fuel then what the hell is the point of having one?!

Most of on here have more than twice that capacity so have a damn good reason for our cack economy!

Sounds like you might have a hole in your fuel tank dude. Either that or someone has been sucking petrol out of it!

18 - 1.3 (Marina!!)

19 - 1.8 (mk2 GTi Golf)

22 - 1.6 (Saxo VTR)

24 - 1.8 (Passat Estate!)

26 - 2.0 (mk3 GTi 16v)

29 - 3.2 (R32)

So I should be on about 5 litres by age 35 [:D]

mine went-

18 - 1.4 (clio)

19 - 1.4 (clio)

20 - 1.4 (clio)

21 - 1.4 (clio)

so by the time i get to 35 i should still be on a 1.4 lol!

I drove a transit all summer... a new one... 2.5L Turbo! Bag of poo! I swear the turb was the size of my fist :)
