This is my 2nd car so the mods list is not exactley huge yet as im spending 3/4 of my wages paying for it and insuring it !

1500 quid insurance on a 1.4 is terrible but its well worth it as i loveeeeeee this car ! Ive allways wanted a mk4 i just love them.

So far all that ive done is clean the balls out of it at least 1ce a week

miltek 4mo style system (not on pics)

new numberplates

and lots of servicing and general car

The hit list is some audi a8 reps, coilovers, and colourcode all the bumpers/handles/bump strips etc

Please dont slag it off because its standard ! Im open to all opinions tho !

Everyone's got to start somewhere so don't worry about it being standard. Infact give this forum a few weeks and we will soon have you spending more on it..[;)]

?1500 on insurance, thats a bit steep isn't it? Who's that with?

Its on his companys insurance so its not really got an individual price onit.

Put it this was without any nos, traction controll or the aquamist set up it ran a 12.4 quarter mile and constantley ran mid 12 secs. Totally road legal as well tax mot the lot

We put it against a Porsche gt3 at bug jam and it had it the crowd went mental.

As for the insurance i just get it interest free over 12 months and a small discount of 10% but you can get 10% off for buying on line so i dont really gain much as you cant do both.

Welcome. That looks like a really nice straight Golf. Grey Anthracite? the same colour as my Bora was. Get yourself some smoked, GTI, rear lenses that's a cheap starting point. Also your'e not too far away have a look at http://www.volkswizard.co.uk/ near Solihull. In the VAG Wheels section, at bottom of page, he has some really good cheap OEM wheels. I got a set of 4mo ones from him for my GTI and they were really good, good tyres etc. There is a set of Audi A3 alloys on there for ?199, and MkIV Monty Is for ?250.

Id say that 415 quid is quite a good discount for 1 years no claims !

At the end of the day were still ''kids'' apparantley and cant drive!

I was insured for works cars last year to drive anything up to 90,000 pound so got to drive a hel of a lot of high performance cars including the polo on my pics so i must be doing something rite. I used to get pulled at least 1ce a week wich annoyed me and i ended up taking all of my documents everywere i went lol.

The only bummer was that i had to insure my own car my self GUTTED !

Basicly its our age and the value of the car i bought mine in october for a very fair price of 5500

I suppose you could pick up a corsa or something similar for less money and proably pay less insurance.

Insuring a car at 17 18 and possibly 19 is a nightmare ive got lots of mate driving who are 17 18 19 and i dont think any of us have got our own insurance under 1300 even 3rd party fire and theft. Its just tuff luck and theres 2 many idiots stealing cars and driving without insurance so they just bump up young drivers premiums.

Im sure my excess is something stupid as well sumthing like 500 quid

I could go on all day but basicly insurance takes the piss even if i had a small bump i wouldnt be able to claim on my insurance as it would rocket the next year and we cant have protected no claims.

Your price is cheap for your own policy but i couldn't afford that so i
went as a named driver and at 17 i was paying ?450 a yr and i just
turned 19 about a month and a half ago also this is on a 1 litre corsa,
i could of got insured on a tdi golf for ?750 named driver again at 17
but didnt want a diesel at the time well not one with 90bhp lol. Just
going to wait untill around 19 and get myself a classic car and get
insured on classic car insurance with HIC insurance (shed loads cheaper
and build up your NCB).

insurance as a named driver is pointless for NCB.

also you say "i got insured for...."...no you didn't, the person that got the policy got insured for ?x, and you were named on that policy, so the money you are stating is fruitless.....
