My work as a surveyor involves me travelling up to 150 miles and back each day to various building sites across the North west and Yorkshire.
As a result of this I am putting far too many miles on my Golf and it's too hard to keep clean so have decided to buy a Van, so I can save the Golf for best.
It only needs to be small, (I can get all my Survey kit in the boot at the mo) but economical and reasonably quick.
The last van I had was an Escort (Non turbo) diesel. This did 0-60 in 20 ish seconds and wouldn't go past 55 - 60 on M62 over the pennines.
What does anyone suggest. Vauxhall do the Astravan which comes with Air Con, CD, Etc. Not keen on Vauxhalls but it seems to be the best of the bunch, has 2.0 DTI engine (which may be chip-able?) any more ideas.
Wish they did a MK IV Golf Van.
