what will a remap give me?
roughly about 118bhp and 185 Lbft depending on where you go..
remap figures vary.

injectors from a 110 tdi, remap + 110 injectors, 130 turbo plus plumbing with remap...etc etc. basically use the search function and research remaps, injectors, turbos, servicing. there are hundreds of posts concerning the agr (90) and ahf (110) 1.9tdi's.

happy hunting
I'm only a noob myself but welcome to the forum!

I also have the AGR engine! As mentioned a remap is the best bang for your buck, I've seen figures of between 118hp and 121hp for a stage one. Other people use bigger injector nozzles such as .205's from a 110 tdi. These agr engines are pretty much limited to 135-140 ish because of the turbo. If you wanna go further thats where you'll need to spend your money, the 130/150 vnt-17's are good and fairly readily available but a bit tricky to get working nicely or so i've heard! If you did get that set up you'd need the supporting mod's including clutch and intercooler. The US site clubtdi is good for info on 90hp tuning!

spot on, forgot about them. loooooads of info [clap]
.216 injectors from the T4 van, remap. best mods. plus perhaps egr delete, K&N filter and intercooler. The 90bhp is seriously restricted though, powerwise. You will never get more than around 130-140bhp out of it.
K&N filter + TDI turbo = failed turbo/MAF sensor.

Your standard intake system will be sufficent for what you're doing. If you want to make it bigger use a (assuming yours is a PD engine) PD130/150 intake with standard filter never ever, ever, ever, ever use a thiner than standard oiled filtration system on your TDI.

Thats just an old wives tale...mine has done well over 50k with K&N filter as have many others[:O] I did change my MAF recently as it was getting old but was still running fine.
plenty of rumours regarding the whole oiled filter/maf thing. dont use one so cant say but why not play safe and have a non oiled foam panel filter housed in your own airbox. from what i have read the increase in a cone filter to a panel filter isnt that great. i use a foam filter made by ram air/jamex. cost bout £35 squid.

By the way yours is not a pd engine incase you were wondering, neither is the 110.
please look through my posts or use the search function as me and a couple of members looked through every possibility of the tuning. including agr hybrids saab turbos etc

agr tuning rings a bell in my head.

search button will help and if you have a read through it and you want to know anything please pm me or pm me a link to a thread and i will be happy to help.

Never say never, we have had numerous threads regarding this engine, one of which became the sort of official one with 6/7 pages of info and included it did mention that the 270hp cup cars that vw raced (i think, not 100% accurate but a quick search will confirm this) were based on the AGR engine with heavy modifications to make them fire out 270hp.

I dont know much about engines but the guys in the thread came to a conclusion that if you want a bigger turbo on the car then you have to have a custom pipe made (could of been pancake pipe i dunno).

As you can see i have the AGR and any tuning or performance increase i'd be interested in...
sell it and buy a 1.8t
try and insure one at 18 !

lol ive remapped mine a 90 bhp but i have the later revised engine code alh massive smile on my face now- got 120 bhp out of it with a cone K&N filter (not had a problem) . Planning egr blanking plates, decat (not sure about this bigger bore pipe theory) 216 injectors from the transporter and then going to custom map it. i think i should see 140 - 150 bhp all running correctly ? Not too restricted all on the standard turbo...

Although am i right in thinking agr's have the 4 bolt system and the rest have 3 ?
Does anyone know how much these maps are, and any recommendations of where to go. Preferably south Wales way ;)
There was 4 bolts from the downpipe to the turbo on my agr

Thought so... So how do u fit a 3 bolt pd turbo onto a 4 bolt system ?

Not doubting it just curious to how people are doing it ? Cut and shut exhaust work with the new turbo exhaust ?
I think it's just a custom flange jobby. Not a massive issue I don't think. The earlier agr engines have the K03 turbo (not the 1.8t one), and it's this turbo that is the limiting factor. Like sematic said, the engines themselves are supposedly good to near 300hp on stock internals but i think i remember reading that it was in the order of £10,000-£15,000 to get one of these to 270hp. I'd better get a paper round....
