It drives me nuts, generally i jump into the car and switch on the coil (diesel) at which point the sound kicks in until I decide to fasten belt and then turn on the engine. So anybody else hate this feature ? - where is that damn buzzer as i'd like to take a pair of pliers to one of it's wires.

TIA

I have a UK Supplied Mk V and I dont get this warning at all. So I guess this might be able to be switched off.

The early mkV cars, built before May-ish didn't have it.

Easiest way is to look under the seat ( not hard yet ) find the wire coming from the seatbelt ( still well easy ) unplug it ( woo not even a screwdriver )

Doing it this way the car thinks there is always someone in the seat, and the added bonus is if you want you can plug it back in and it will work like normal, unlike the screwdriver option which may do more damage than just put the light out, like letting your spouse fly bounce of the dash in a crash.

That could cause a problem if your in an accident in that because the car thinks some one is in that seat so if the air bags trigger then the passenger side ones will trigger too because the car thinks some one is there.

I've said this before - I'd leave well alone.

The only time it gets on my nerves is usually on the Friday night Curry run. It thinks the take-a-way is a person sitting in the passenger seat and dings the bloomin' dinger.............[:D]

NO[:O]

Never sit a curry on the seat or inside the car either. If it spills or leaks you'll want to kill yourself.

Hang it on a hook in the boot, that's what they are there for [;)] or if it is cold wrap it up in a big towel.
