I've not seen a quick straw poll like this on here, and I'm curious as to the top end on everyone's motors

I've got a 115 PD Bora and squeezed 128 indicated out of her yesterday on the M4 er... autobahn... I had to ease off when I came up on some traffic but I reckon there was a teensy bit more there...

Now I know it ain't setting the world alight, (I had 145 indicated out of my VR6), just wondering what you got and how fast you had it!!

Hi guys,

On the way to the Nurburgring this year saw an indicated 168mph, then 2 days later dropped a valve whilst going round the ring and have just built the engine and put it back together 2 days ago, got to build my confidence in the engine back up again and hopefully will see similar figures.

Good figures for tdi's tho guys and where i was getting 10 mpg you were probably getting 50 something lol..

Cheers

Matt

I dont think they are limited, well unless the AMD chip removes any limiters

I've had 160 outta the car atleast 5 or 6 times, each time I've run outta room.

On the GPS it's indicating 155, and I'm pulling 6k rpm. With peak BHP arriving just past 6k rpm, I reckon there's a true 160 in there somewhere!

Just waiting until I get my new tyres before seeing if it can be done

147mph in France then I had to slow down for traffic.

Some of these R32 figures are loony - Are they true?!

My 160 (155 GPS) is very true. First time, 2 passengers onboard, Henry being one of them.

Next day Henry did the same in his car, on the same stretch of road.

I've since done it a handful of times, most recently up against Henry in his, and some bloke in a Mk2 Gti with 1.8T engine!

A true 160 is capable i reckon (with 270bhp that is), you just gotta find the time and place
