I'm attempting to remove the gearbox on my V6 Bora 6 speed manual but can't separate the transmission from the engine.
I think I have undone all the bolts, including two facing towards driver side.
Both drive shaft flanges are removed and transfer case is loose.
It's not hitting the subframe or anything else.
I've tried lowering the engine and transmission with respect to each other.
I can get a flat head screw driver between engine and transmission at the front but can't seem to get the box off. I've probably wrecked the thin black metal gasket between them.

Any advice would be hugely welcome.

There are two hidden 16s on the back of the block going into the box. Did you get them? I usually drop the prop bolts and take the transfer case out on the box.

Thanks Adam, turns out there was one more bolt above the transfer case.

Once I got this, gear box came away from engine quite easily. Bit of maneuvering and cleared the subframe.

In the process of prying out the box yesterday, I bent (X on picture) the metal gasket between box and engine. Should I get new ones or straighten these out?

Adam, with the prop bolts, are you referring to the donut / flexible disc / coupling?

I need to replace mine and can't find a DIY. Now that all is disconnected, do I just undo the 6 bolts?

Yeah, that's right. The one tucked up behind the transfer case is a cheeky one. It's just 10mm multi-point hex from memory. Getting the gearbox back up on the ground is hard work btw, prepare yourself mentally.

I belted these creases flat with a plastic hammer

I can vouch for the fun getting the gearbox back in and aligning the input shaft. Make sure you've got a good clutch plate alignment tool - not one of the rubbish plastic ones. I also found using some longish bolts with the heads cut off to act as dowels to help align the box when offering up to be very useful.
