I need to remove the glovebox light in order to replace the bulb (Ta Shaq [8D])

I have heard that there can be problems .....

1 How does the light come out - mine seems VERY tight. Where and in what direction do you lever it

2 What tips can you all give me regarding a switch/spring which I have heard is rather delicate and easy to break.

Any pictures, anyone?

TIA

i found levering it out with a screwdriver from the top part of the light was the easiest! Then just be careful getting it through the hole! needs a bit of twisting! After i broke my first one i now find it easy to remove it! Currently no glovebox light as my ipod cables run through there! lol

I just GENTLY levered mine at the two round ends, there one clip at the far end and two smaller clips at the front end. There is a black lever towards the front, and the cable plugs in the back. Too much force on the lever or the cable will cause it to seperate. I could only reassemble mine by comparing it to a new on at the dealers [:I]- the spring is pig to position correctly without comparing it to a working one

Shaqs bulb is a very tight fit.

Reassembling the spring if the whole thing comes apart isn't at all obvious, and I can't get a decent photo of how it fits[:(]

Mine's out the moment... I didn't have much difficulty getting it out, I wasn't especially careful. It is a tight fit though!

At the moment I can't seem to get it back in! I think that's slightly more difficult?!

The black thing is under a tiny amount of tension, It moves up and down triggering the light on and off when you open the glovebox, it's a switch pretty much..

I have done exactly the same!!

I have sat here for hours playing with it - cannot for the life of me work out how the spring fits around the black "switch". Proper rubik cube stuff (useless at that also! lol)

Anyone got any photos of the damn thing please?

Thanks,

Dave

£9.50 now. Had a look at the new one and found out that the problem was the spring!

Really hard - but you have to pull one end of the spring right around (over the bottom and past the bottom spring lug) and over the black plastic arm part! As I said quite fiddly!

Cheers,

Dave

And again.. Who ever took them pics in the first place is my Hero for the day.. been plauged by the light saying on for at least 6 months now.. took it all apart today.. having looked at ETKA its around £10 for a replacement which isnt up to date.

Found the switch was totally working the wrong way.. put it right to the pics..

Sorted..

Many thanks.. Altho i am now in the process of modding the glovebox light with a LED strip *like my boot lights* so i can actually see inside it!
