Help on buying a GT TDI 115/150

I recently sold my little MK4 1.4 S petrol and decided now I'm grown up I can afford to insure the GT TDI with insurance only increasing £200 max with the 150. But just need some help with the spec and things to look out for. On 1.4s and petrols in general I'm aware its gearbox, electric window runners, starter motor and the idle vavle. Hoping to go and view a few GTTDI's and not jump at the first one and need a little help on which questions to ask or if the "bad bit" spec is generally the same? I was also hoping for one that has the heated leather seats, do these carry any faults with them?

Seems a bit still asking all this I know, but brought my 1.4 for £2,000 and ended up spending another £3k in his life to get him tick tocking right?!

Any help gratefully received! ;) x

if you go for the 150PD then make sure its had a good service history and had the correct oil used as these engines are prone to cam wear

other than that just do all the usual checks on the car when looking at it and driving.

are you going to look on your own or with someone i.e a mechanic or similar (unless your clued up on what to look for that is :) )

oh get the 150!, lazy driving

torque mmmmmmm
For a blonde girl I'm sort of mechincally educated. So hopefully I won't get ripped off. Just wasn't sure if you know different Bhp models ment different little prob's? As the 1.4 petrol problems I discovered mainly whislt driving the bloody thing...m6 toll for instance when the window dropped out and smashed!
since you're mechanically clued up, i would suggest taking a vagcom or someone that has one

it will save you a lot of nasty surprises (take it from me, i learnt the hard way)
where are you located?

most of the PD range are fairly good engines etc but its mainly down to how its been looked after

Staffs way between Uttox and Cannock. I found out the hardway with the last golf, hence being overally induldged this time. Such hard work trying to find one that hasn't been molested by a 17 year old!

If anyone could build me one on a 02 plate, around 82-90,000 miles (after the cambelt and clutch change at 80,000 you see)
Black, 3 door audi rs4 alloys or some nice bbs deep dishes, and heated leather interior maybe throw in a sat nav for good cause, that would be wonderful! :) x
