I did a quick search on google and the only place I can find them is on
an american suppliers site for $499 (parts4euros or something like
that).

I guess that they may be LHD only though so no use to us over here
although I guess an email to the supplier to ask the question may be
worthwhile.

Unfortunately i dont think that supplier can ship over to the UK and im
not 100% sure if its LHD only. Im sure it has a Euro Switch which is
always helpful for us over here. The only differance from what ive
heard with these lights is the line that goes along the bottom but
other than that everything is identical and half the price.

If anyone else has any other information let me know ASAP

Thanks very much

HID Xenons just seem so hard to find for the Bora over here suprisingly!

If they have a "tourist lever" they still won't give the correct beam pattern for right hand drive. All that it does is cut off the high part of the beam from the lhd pattern.

I have been trying to source some bora HIDs as i am looking to do a bolf conversion and dont want to lose to much light compared to my golf oem xenons, anyway have been talking to a guy in the US who says he can sort me out with a set of bora black projector lamps RHD and install a HID kit into them for me for around 265 GBP, so its just a case of me sortin the panels before i get some

What make are the projector lamps?
I asked about the FK ones and been told by one supplier that they can be switched to RHD and then by another that the switching just converts LHD to without the high part of the beam. It's just a tourist lever as I mentioned above.

Before you buy the lamps double check that they give a full RHD beam pattern, not a converted LHD.

Are they the FK / Depo ones then because I don't think that they make RHD versions only LHD with tourist lever. That's why I've just bought a Bi-xenon H4 conversion for mine although I'm slightly regretting it at the moment.

So from what im reading these dont come in RHD? Im going to contact the
supplier myself and find out alittle more information about these.

If they are the real deal and ive heard they are over on VWvortex, i
think im going to order a pair and let everyone know how it gets on.

Bora HID Xenons seem to be quite hard to come across over here in the
UK. I thought us being part of Europe, we wouldnt have had such a
problem![:O]

I think that because they were quite an expensive option most buyers didn't bother and I don't think that they were standard at any trim level even the V6 4 motion. Also, most people probably didn't expect the standard headlights to be as bad as they are.
There are a few sets of LHD OEM xenons over on eBay.de so perhaps they were more popular in Europe. Doesn't help us though.

These lamps from cali are available in left and right hand drive and they will either fit the HIDs for you if you buy the hid kit at the same time as ordering the lights, i am thinking about a poss GB if we could get some numbers together (maybe) give us some feedback guys

The lamps which red-jeffers is looking at doing the GB on are not the
exact replicas which you were initially asking about. Have a look at
the eBay link and you will see the ones he is talking about.

Why would you want LHD xenons anyway?

You could get some of those of ebay.de but they won't be much good in the UK.

Just done a bit of checking and proper RHD Bosch xenon headlamps are
available from Bosch agents in the UK for just over ?150 + VAT each.
However, on top of this you would require a pair of D2S bulbs and
ballasts.

Ths D2Ss are available from HIDS4U.co.uk for ?70 per pair for 6000K or,
iirc ?50 each for original equipment. Not sure how much the ballasts
are but if you've already bought an HID kit (like I have) this may be
re-usable with the D2S bulbs.

On top of this you will need the levelling motors at about ?25 each
from your local friendly VW stealer and a 10 to 12 pin conversion lead
available from ebay.de or Baker21 if he has any left.

Still not a cheap conversion, but at least you would know that the quality of the headlamp unit will be good.
