Well, not the headlights exactly, but my O/S headlight washer!

Having bought the car with the O/S washer jet missing I have just returned from the stealers with my wallet £12 lighter attempting to fix this. Without the jet installed, the sequence of events when using the screen wash with the lights on is as follows:

1- Windscreen gets washed.

2- All headlight pressure is vented through the open O/S port.

3- O/S port remains open and donates 5.5L of screenwash to the floor.

4- O/S port closes.

Now, with the new jet installed:

1- Windscreen gets washed.

2- O/S jet flies off, endangering the lives of passing pedestrians and small animals.

3- All headlight pressure is vented through the open O/S port.

4- O/S port remains open and donates 5.5L of screenwash to the floor.

5- O/S port closes.

It is possible to stem the flow from the open port by pushing the jet into it, but next time you go to use it the jet becomes airborne once again. I'm convinced there is some sort of retaining clip missing as there appears to be one attached to the N/S jet (it doesn't just pull completely away), however there isn't one on the ETKA diagram:

None of this happens if the headlights are off, in that scenario everything functions correctly - thus I cannot use my screenwash at night without emptying the entire tank!
