Today a load of us went to a rollers session. Everyone had a good perv at Martyn's R too!

On the same rollers before the remap with 17"s she put out 153 bhp and 280 lb/ft.

Today with Superchips remap and 18"s she put out 186 bhp and 357 lb/ft.

I'm happy enough with that!!

Mark - don't you mean 357Nm ?

357lb/ft seems way too high........

in fact it is.......

I'm getting 400Nm = 295 lb.ft

Your bhp figure is about same as mine - 188 bhp

I'll double check the print out tomorrow but I'm pretty sure it says lb/ft.

Jesus Adam does it have to be a gleaming fancy premises to be able to trust your car with someone on a rolling road? There is nothing backstreet about the place I can tell you, I wouldn't let my car go near somewhere that was either dodgy or backstreet thanks very much.

The appearance is testament to how long the guy has been in business and next door he has a fully modern 4WD road.

Of course there were fans used, he had only reversed the car in when pictures were taken.

Nice bhp but no way is that torque figure achievable. Can you post your
graph? Put it into perspective I've got nitrous, a full milltek,
smoothed airbox with green cotton filter, sachs clutch, lsd, and custom
map and that give 346lb/ft!! Either you got a torque spike or someone
doesn't know how to load the rollers.

I dunno lads...why would the bhp be so normal but the torque be way off.

Foxy what rpm is your peak bhp at?

Here are the bhp and torque graphs from yesterday. I don't have a scanner so it's a picture of them.

It 100% says lb/ft on the torque reading though.

Max torque speed 2103 rpm

Max engine torque (corrected) 356.9 lb/ft

Max road speed in test 103 mph

Max engine speed in test 3767 rpm

You can just make out lb/ft where I have highlighted on bhp graph. I had to go over the plots with a pen lightly to make them a bit darker from the camera.

Well you have a huge torque spike there which would account for the
high torque but its just not right. You can get a normal bhp reading
with a high torque figure. Its all about the load on the rollers and
whether they're an inertia based system or not. Trust me you don't have
that kind of torque from a remap.

So in your opinion Nik would you rather a torque curve like above or something a bit more longer lasting and peak spread a bit better?

The car certainly drives fine, it's not all or nothing at all and it's a very progressive power increase out on the road.
