Yup, Mk5.

And side skirts as far as i know, one on the GTi

All in was just under a ton which shocked me, that includes strips that i think screw onto the car, then the skirts and there mounts that clip onto this strip and all screws and fixings

Hi all - just found the forum and registered - what a great resource [:D] I have been a member on the Audi TT forum for a couple of years and I am so glad to find a similar place for my Golf.

I also have a GT TDI but a 5 door one. I have been trying to get info on the GTI side skirts as I would like to get this mod done. Does anyone have any more info on part numbers, cost and how they fit etc.

Any help for a newbie would be appreciated.

Cheers, Ben

Of the top of my head I remember someone tellling me / being quoted ?30
for the skirts. Col's right, its just a bit of plastic that clips on.

The entire GTI kit is only like ?250. (entire front end, side skirts, rear etc.)

Guys are these just the black skirt that goes
round the bottom of the bumpers and sides of the car? or are they the
actual front and rear bumper too?

Chris
The rear bumper on the GTI is the same as normal Mk5's, its just got a
different valance with cutouts for the exhausts to poke out. thats just
a piece of plastic and is also very cheap.

The side skirts are plastic once again, can't remember if they are ?30 each or for the pair.

The front end is a bit more complex. You need to get the GTI front
bumper bracket, spoiler + lip spoiler, the bumper skin, honey comb
grill bits, and new fog lamps. Sounds like a lot, but its still cheap.
The skin is ?130 ish, the spoiler bits are ?30 ish, the bracket I can't
remember but its cheap. The honey comb grill bits are also cheap ?5-15
each, and the fog lamps are ?50 each.

For ?250-300 you can get all the parts you need to change the exterior
body into a GTI (except wheels), all you need to do is fit and spray it.

edit//

forgot about the spoiler, believe thats ?50-60. I've got the part
numbers and prices at home on my PC, I'll dig them out tonight.

These are VW RRP prices and part numbers for the GTI front end, don't
have the side skirt, GTI valance or spoiler ones at hand though. Keep
in mind that there are a few people here on the forums that you can get
VAG parts through with discount (ie, Shaq), so it'll work out even
cheaper.

Sorry to ressurect this old thread but i've been offered a GT TDI at the right money but it needs a bit of paint on the wing and bumper,i initially wasn't interested but now i've been thinking i could get the GTI bumper done. Can anyone tell me if this is a straight swop or is a bit of tinkering required to get it to fit? and if the front slam panel needs to be changed to the GTI one?

Hi, I'm new to this so bear with me...

Are these all the parts required to turn a GT TDi into a GTi front end? Im a little confused, Its been stated in previous forums that you need to make new mounts and install a new slam panel?

Thanks

You do need to get a locking radiator panel/slam panel,i've just converted my GTTDI to a new GT frond end(with jetta chrome grille) and it cost me ?780 in total from main dealer's,i'm sure to get part's and get it fitted/sprayed would cost you close to a grand.Look at my post in this section to see how it turned out!
