Check this out. Imported the data i gathered from the VAG COM log into the format which the software we use in work to analyse the race car uses, then plotted a X/Y graph, same results but more detailed.

Interesting to note that peak is only 102 from a car which is suppose to be close to 180bhp. Thats a hell of a lot of power loss

Using VAG-COM;

1. engine block

2. measuring block group 2 or 3

3. Log the data to a file

4. Go to a long flat straight bit of road.

5. I used 2nd gear, foot to the floor until you dare not rev it higher!

6. Graph it using Excel...

You may get better results using 4th gear, but you need a private runway and a lot of bottle to log this!!

Gary,

I've smoothed my air box and tried to run pipe last weekend, but there didn't seem to be room round the battery and downwards. And what looks like the horn is in the way by the airvent... Any ideas?

Did you remove everything from the old intake including the black plastic thing at the rear of the headlight?

I didnt have a problem getting an 80mm flexible pipe down behind it but it was tight.

To get to the airvent I had to bend and twist the brackets slightly for the horn.
