Hi all,

Got a timing belt and water pump change coming up and am buying the parts myself.

Can anyone tell me how many litres of coolant I will need?

I've done loads of searching and can't find an answer.

Thanks

Steve

According to Haynes 6 litres for a 1.9 tdi :Y:
Thanks.

I guess a lot of the coolant will stay in the system so have been told by Bobby Singh that a couple of litres should be sufficient to top up.

I guess if I wanted to do a full flush and refill than it would be as above.
I've done a Full coolant system reflash,I bought 2x1.5 Litre G13 coolant from VW and I added distilled water until it was full,so 6 litres sounds about wright

I think thats probably what Bobby meant, the concentrated coolant. I can buy 2 of the 1.5l bottles and some distilled water anyway to be on the safe side.

Thanks guys.
Does anyone know if TPS sell the G13 coolant?

Got to be cheaper than a main stealer.....
I don't know if TPS do it, but I got 1.5l from main dealer when I bought my £5.26 flywheel cover plug, and the total incl the flywheel cover plug was £16 or so. Didn't think it was too bad.

Thanks. Will see how much TPS charge tomorrow.
GSF sell purple G13 equivalent now, it's not on the website but ask for part number:
