I renewed my policy with greenlight in november and I am still waiting to receive my policy documents. Every time I phone to complain they give me a pile of poo poo about them waiting to be sent out and each time they send a cover note.

I have had enough and will be cancelling my policy and writing to the insurance ombudsman and maybe watchdog to complain. Neil20v if you're reading this m8, please sort your people out.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems?

I had this problem when I first insured with Greenlight some 2 years ago. Not had the same problem since though, and to their credit I've always found them to be quite speedy when it comes to document issue (change of vehicle recently and documents were with me withing one week).

Have you tried speaking to Neil direct?

I wouldn't like that one little bit. I don't blame you for wanting to cancel your policy, I just hope you don't get charged for doing so mid year.

With Direct Line, any documents are always dispatched same day first class.

When I used Adrian Flux 2 yrs ago, I got the same thing.. I had cover notes for 4-5 months of my 12 months with them..

Bunch of lamers!

Elephant on the other hand have always been very efficient at sending out documentation - always on time as promised. (what they are like when it comes to claim time - I don't know).

That's disgraceful cover or no cover, it shouldn't take more than 3 days. What happens if you get a producer?

Over here you HAVE to display an insurance disc beside your tax one, it'll be a 2 penalty point offence soon to not display it, wouldn't be tolerated at all.

Sorry to hear you guys are unhappy with the service recieved and i would like to apologise to anyone who feels let down.

Because we are a broker we have to first get all the required documents from the client before submitting the details to the insurer. If the clients are waiting proof of no claims bonus from the prior insurer this can add a delay.

Then these documents are submitted to the underwriter to check and the issue the full policy documents.

Modified cars can sometimes take a few days longer than standard cars as special endorsements need to be applied and more documentation is generally required.

The average turn around before documents are in your hand is 21 days after we recieve all the required items, although most cases are only taking 14 days to come back from the underwriters at present.

On a renewal the insurer already have all the require information so the document issueing will be a lot quicker.

Without looking at each individual case i cannot tell you the reason for delay.

If anyone ever gets any problems please do not hesitate to contact me at work and i'll do my upmost to help. (contact details below)

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil.....

I have sent a quote to your company this evening as I am having problems with Churchill.

Basically they will not insure a possible miltek.

So keep a look out for it :) - quote me satisfied...

(BTW< I am paying around 700 pounds at the moment)

got this from neil

To be honest it all depends on the underwriters criteria who provides the

figure. So some of the other VW'ers you have spoken to may have a lower

value vehicle or fit a different underwriters criteria meaning tracker

system would not be required.

Some of our insurers require a Tracker on modified vehicles over the value

?14000.

Ireland and the rest of Europe, and Australia as I remember!. Here, its tax and that's it. Have an accident and you hope that the other party is insured, bit of a lottery really. I'm not sure what they are trying to do, it can't be to save money.

If they introduced the same system as Europe, insurance premiums should come DOWN. Come on Mr Blair.

Well i changed my policy to a diff car over 7 weeks ago and i still havent got the documents through or the cheque covering the diff in policy as the new policy is a cheaper one. So it will be coming up 8 weeks since greenlight got my documents through and STILL nothing back apart from cover notes. Why the hell do companies do that take a whole month to process a few sheets of paper for christs sake. At this rate i wont get my cheque until the dam insurance is due again. There is nothing you can do though, if you ring them they just say they havent received anything back yet, so i may aswell kiss goodbye to my £ as Im pretty sure i will never see it.

Just spoke to Neil who says he can get it sorted which is good thanks neil, however why th other people there wouldnt help i really dont know. They just said i needed to wait longer.
