Must get away and do something otherwise I'll go back to work feeling just as crap as before. Any decent places to go, things to see, do...? I kinda fancy the road trip to Scotland idea but this might take out too much of this precious little break and maybe I should save that for when I've got some proper time off (like out of work [:S])

Currently on my list is:

  • Sort out my CV
  • Build a test server and work through a list of objectives to be able to say I've done them (actually this should come before the CV...)
  • Clean my car
  • Read some books I bought years ago and never read
  • Create something... I need to make something with my bare hands! Not picked up a paintbrush since I left school, I probably couldn't draw or paint if I tried now... Anyone got a kit car they need a hand with assembling? [:D]

Ok mate heres the definitive:

Take your loved one (best mate) to Le Palais du Jardine in Covent Garden for dinner. Its where i took my missus the other night and was most definately suitable for the occasion. Try the oysters...absolutely amazing!!

Then you can come round and build my dual core PC for me. I cant be bothered and since you've got time this seems like the perfect little exercise for you.

Apart from that the only thing i can suggest is maybe a trip to Chessington/ Alton Towers. Nice day out and cheapish.

The road trip to scotland sounds good. Ive always had that on my cards but never really found the time. You might wanna try staying in a MalMaison Hotel. Contemporary but fairly priced.

Books...leave that for the journey for work ;-)

I have too many ideas but too little time...wanna swap roles...better yet...wanna hire a recent graduate?

Will do when she's next in the UK.

OK so that'll take, ooh, 45 mins? LOL, that'd be like being at work. What components ya got? Does your mobo have RAID? Mmm, RAID 0 with a pair of WD Raptors, yum [:p]

Where do you live, I might consider this... Are we gonna do a paint job on the case and mod it up [:p][:D][Y]

Haha, I live 10 mins from Chessington and used to work opposite there.

I drive to work. These are books about art and design, really need to get away from reading technical stuff all the time.

You don't wanna work at my place trust me...

If you come up to Scotland, give some of us up here a bell and we'll have a little meet. Quite a collection of nice dubs in the central belt [:)].

One other thing which I like to do is drive somewhere just a little out of the way (not too far from home), and stay a couple of nights and concentrate on something entirely different from work - like those books you've got while being able to go out and socialise, enjoy some nice meals and go for some nice walks.

That's my idea of a good break.

1.Find the definitive answer to how many beans make five.

2.Find a cure for the common cold.

3.Write,record and release a No.1 hit single.

4.Discover a new planet in our solar system just inside the orbit of Burgess Hill

5.Invent a new kind of water.

6.Buy enough Ratatouille Provencale to fill the Canary Wharf tower.

Go-karting [H]

Buy a wierd electronic gizmo that seems good to invest in at the time, keeps you happy for a week then you realise uhh why did i buy it [^o)]

Wash my car .... [:)]

Drayton Manor seems like a good day out, less queues than Malton Powers. [<)]

Im still trying to plan a little journey around Snowdonia along some supposedly nice sweeping roads.... (once i got remapped)

Havent got any components yet but im thinking Dual Core with SLI, but dont think i would fully utilise it tbh. Cant be bothered with RAID. Ive heard all the hype but i think my SATA2 will be more than sufficient for my monotonous uk-mkivs. As for case modding, seems like you were reading my mind. I was thinking of the Antec P180 purely for its noise reduction and heat transfer abilities. However, ive always wanted a completely matt black finish to a case. Wouldnt even know where to start on that though.

PS i found my Titanium Pro 60 if you want a game...[;)]

Yeah man I'd be up for that! Whereabouts are you? We could organise a little UK-MKIVs tournament [:D]

I think you should get your case colour coded to your car (and add some tasteful brushed alloy or chome accents), and put Oettinger badges on it [Y]

What time?? I'm getting home for about 7 atm and it would be nice to eat, tho that doesn't bode well for a match...

Throw some times about and I'll pop up. Shiuming, may I have the honours of your spare for the eve??

C

PS - Gengar if you're of my level (ie don't completely cane my arse [;)] [:$] ) could do with a regular session [y]

CCNA - don't be daft, I gave that up 4 years ago, I wouldn't know a Cisco router if it hit me in the face now!

CkB,

Where do you usually play? To make it more fair on Shuiming i guess we could meet up halfway or something?

By the way, im getting worried by everyones eagerness. Last time i played someone this eager i got my a$$ handed to me!! Im not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but i can probably return a few shots. Might have to get some secret play time in so i dont look like a complete fool.
