OK fellow VW'ists. I picked up my 3year old Motion in August and here is a list of current problems that I think VW need to address (From the years warranty that they gave me. Let me know if you think I am in the right to get this work sorted under warranty or am I just being picky:

Passenger interior door pull

you have to pull the handle litterally to 90 dgrees before the door will open. Drivers door is fine just have to pull to 45ish degrees. I want VW to adjust this.

Rear ashtray

This does not open and close correctly. The two doors should close together in the middle even if one door of the ashtray is moved I presume or must I manually close both sides of the cover???

Rear Fog lights

I only have one! There does not seem to be a hole for the bulb to go through the rear cluster! Normal?

Tapping Engine noise

From cold the engine seems to make a nasty noise which sounds like maybe some marbles banging together. If I rev the engine the noise speeds too.

What else??....

Skeaking ARB Bushes

My guess anyway, when I go over speed bumps I get a creaking noise from the front wheels!

Rattling handbrake button

The most annoying noise ever when going over small bumps in the road, sounds like a loud mosquito! Could sort myself I suppose.

Rear interior light

On the passenger side does not work all the time! Tried replacing the bulb but no difference. This happens randomly!

Lack of First aid kit

Just an empty compartment in the boot with a strap! Was this a standard item?

...and this today!!

Car stalls

Noticed engine noise has started to come through the speakers which maybe suggests a bad earth somewhere(?) and this has now got worse to the extent where sometimes the dash lights dim and the revs drop dramatically and rise to normal again! On one occasion today the car has stalled completely and when I turned it back on again the ESP warning light is constantly on! Tried to press the ESP button but the light stayed on so pulled over and turned thecar off and on again and the light has reset.

It seems funny how none of these issues seem to have surfaced on the test drive!!!

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! [:(!][:(][:(!][:(][:(!][:(][:(!][:(]

Thanks for your replies peeps. I wouldn't take the car back just for the minor stuff but I have had further development on the speaker noise problem!! This moring I started the car as usual and let it warm up for a few minutes and drove off as usual. As the revs climbed in third gear the car started to misfire or something and was juddering. Easing off of the throttle and it stopped but then I tried to speed up again and the it happened again this time causing the Check Engine light to flash. so I pulled over and turned off the car for a few minutes and restarted again. The Engine light had now reset but the juddering was still present but was residing and after about 10 - 15 mins on the road completely cleared. VW dont reckon they have availablity to look at it in the next two weeks!!!! Anyone had a similar issue

Thanks Gti FLY. Someone mentioned maybe a coil problem at work this morning. mine is three years old but I still have a 10 months of the warranty left as they gave me a year's when I bought it. (lucky I bought it from a VW garage!) Apparently should get it sorted asap cos if the car is overfueling it can damage the CAT?!? Do you know if this could be causing the speaker noise also?

Just an update on how the prob's are going, if anyone is interseted:

The engine trouble is still ongoing, accoring to VW, no 6 cyclinder is running incorrectly so they have sent off of for new plugs and ht leads and have found errors in the diagnostics thingie!? Also they are replacing the rear exhaust section as the inside of the muffler was "in pieces". Interior bits and bobs still to be looked at plus the antiroll bar creaking.

Cheers peeps got the car back today runs much nicer now that the exhaust and leads have been replaced. Yeah I think I am being a bit picky on some of the things I reported to VW but they made it VERY clear that if any parts on the car I was trading in were missing then it may change the price that they would give me. Hence the pickyness for me now [:D]

I am very happy now though. They have ordered a new ashtray, rear interior light fitting and engine cover for me so that all gets fitted next weekend.

Good idea about the ARB's too they have not looked into this problem yet so I might as well get them changed at the same time. What parts are actually included in the 160 quid??

The best thing is that it has all been on the house!! [^]
