Looking to change my Golf v5 to am R32 or 1.8 turbo - Do I need to change the engine and gear box or just the block?

Does anybody know whether the 4x4 running gear would fit from an R32 or 4motion to a v5?

Thanks

Personally, I'd go for a 1.8 over the 3.2 due to the weight. Worth putting an LSD/ATB in the gearbox too.

Are they any turbo options for the V5 ?

Know nothing about these engines, but seems an interesting configuration.

the thing is im looking for big bhp and the convertion still to be cheap and i have been looking and to turbo the r32 engine seams pretty easy but to get 350-500bhp out of a 1.8t will be hard and the sound out of the v6 they sound amazing

Big BHP is never cheap [;)]

There are plenty of 1.8 Ts' out there putting out a solid 400+bhp, but at the cost of a high boost threshhold.

Fair enough a turbo'd 3.2 will support big turbo better. Decent mani's cost mega-bucks for the 1.8, never looked for a T25 mani for a 3.2 ...
