Hello,

Newish to forum, but have had a good look around. Am currently in the process of looking for a new car, was was considering a Golf Anniversary TDi to replace my petrol munching 20VT. Was wondering what the tuning options are on this lump.

I have been told Forge are bringing out a FMIC. And I know REVO, Custom Code and a host of others can offer a good remap. I have also spotted a quality NOS install on a Anni on this forum!

What I am looking for (or hoping for) is a solid 200-220 BHP and 300 - 330ft Torque. I hate to have to give up my REVO'ed petrol, but needs must. Am I asking the impossible? I know the Seat Ibiza TDi 160 maps upto 200 bhp and 300+ ft torque and was wondering what the differences on the setups are. Bigger injectors? Bigger FMIC?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi there, first of all I'm sure you won?t regret the switch. TDI150's have great torque and actually seem faster than a 1.8T in every day driving. The real plus is the incredible milleage you'll still get. A simple remap will give about Audi S3 performance and the milleage will even improve more.

After ~190bhp (remap), you'll need a bigger turbo to get past the 200bhp barrier. Afterwards it starts to get real expensive: bigger PD injectors (+?1500), bigger IC (ex:FMIC), uprated cluch, etc

Hi Cupra hog

Had a Anni PD and they are nice but every one wanted to steal the wheels of it, sold it bought a Leon FR 150 with same engine and the kids can climb in it ok, if you start upgrading a good 150 then you can blow of the intercooler pipes that are held in place with a large diameter spring clip, i eneded up screwing small screws in to place to hold the hoses in, advised to do this by a REVO agent, no good on a run and enjoying it then pop, of comes a hose..

Personaly once you get into 150 PD's you'll love em, i wont part with mine, oh and with the ever increasing cost of fuel and the economic gains of a diesel, it easily out wieghts a petrol.

Regards Mark

Welcome to the forum. I have had my 150pd for nearly 4 years now and like Mark won't part with it. I generally get bored with my cars after 2 years, but not this one.

Firstly I don't know if you're aware, but the 150 has a FMIC as std, which I have heard is more efficient that that fitted to the lower powered models. This is noted by the lag which is not evident on the 130.

To get 220bhp you are going to need a hybrid turbo, new clutch, and possibly new injectors. The latter will set you back about 1500 quid and are pretty much flowing to their full capacity after a remap.

You could also go for NOS, which NikB has on his car.

You could always buy my PD150 WRS (Washbrook Revo Special)! It's in the For Sale section.

Was that a subtle enough hint?
I wouldnt buy that as anything tuned by that guy will sieze the engine, make your turbo fall off, wear out your tyres, fail its MOT and make your granny drop dead. All this and more if you listen to a certain person's gossip.[:O]

Seriously now then...Mike, your ad has gone. Please email me the details as I know someone looking for a 150 now.

Cheers,

What a pity! The car goes in on Saturday when I collect my A3 Sportback, all the paperwork is done and the money exchanged, you missed it by a couple of days....... Shame, it was a fantastic car, me granny loved it, I've reflashed it back to stock as well.

What I need now is a switchable performance map for a 2.0TDi........but I'll have to wait until November for that.

I still love my PD150 anniversary. I have got NOS which churns out
231bhp and 346lb/ft. However NOS is not cheap and its not there all the
time. I've been looking at the big turbo, injectors route but still
waiting for something reliable to appear. If I were you I'd just get a
remap for now and that will put a smile on your face.

I had my 150 remmapped @ Jabba back in march, done almost 18k since with zero problems, only other thing I changed was the filter for a piper-x foam panel type & a squirt of Millers Diesel Power plus with each tank full, if you add MDP+ to BP Ultimate derv, its like rocket fuel.

Mines putting out 185bhp on JBS rollers, & I still get 55mpg most days [:D]

I had mine remapped by Forge, well Richard W really.... Fantastic map, lovely and smooth but nice and aggressive too. Its on par with the old AGU chipped petrol, but a bit behind a ko3s car up top. With all that said tho I still get 45mpg+ whilst driving like a loon...... so Im happy!

Not yet been RR'd but I suspect its the 185 bhp mark as most others get!
