only had the car a couple of months, and when i got it the ESP light was on solid.
was told by vw that this was because it was lowered 50mm on rock hard suspension, the "lateral accelleration sensor"in the steering colum would have been shook to death.
i then changed my suspension to 35mm drop coilovers(trying to improve the ride) but these were no good so i sent them back. whilst i had these fitted the ABS light was very intermittent, and i found turning the ign on and off fixed this. once however it fixed the esp(for about 1 min) then the light came back on solid(ESP)
when i fitted stock suspension, the ABS light went out straight away, and the ESP light was not coming on much. so i thought i had cured the problem...........but it is back on again now and has been for 2 weeks. the ABS light only came on a week ago, once, and went out the next time i started my car.
so i decided to get the sensor fitted(150 plus vat!) but this didn't fix it either, so the dealer didn't charge me, but suggested i get the wiring checked out. and if it's not the wiring they said it would be the abs control unit.
any ideas?
last resort- how do i get that f****ing orange light off my dashboard(i.e wheres the fuse, or how can i get the bulb out)
