I know they are totaly different cars but i have had my eye on both recently. I love both cars - the golf is cheaper to run and more practical but the tt is a lot faster (260+ bhp chipped) and handles better being 4wd.

I am totaly in 2 minds about it cuz of the merits of both but im worried because in the last 3 months or so i have been watiching anni prices drop from them going for around ?14k to now being able to get one for less than ?12k! Are they gonna continue dropping? Will the tt prive drop if a new model of that comes out?

What do u guys think i should do?

Cheers in advance [8D]

It'd have to be the Anniversary PD for me mate, looks amazing as standard, a very exclusive model and a rare sight on the road, and if Revo'd will fly.....

TT on the other hand, well, it looks like a TT which is no bad thing but they are like belly buttons... everyone's got one!! [;)][:p]

lol true BUT u dont see many TTs round here and there are 2 anni's that go about :(

i think its a gorgeous car though. Im just worried i suppose that i buy the car to save money and end up losing more money through depreciation...

Your lucky to see so many Anni's round by you mate, i never see one on the road anymore, saw the first one in Months last week, it was a Tornado red 1.8T and was absolutely stunning! so much in fact that i have starting looking at the possibilty of getting one of my own in PD form...

The PD anni should be cheaper to insure/run than the TT and even though TT residuals are very strong i would have thought that those of the Anni would almost match it, and come resale time there will always imo be a large demand for good Anni's especially the PD version... [:D]

may i suggest a S3? best of both worlds imo.

I agree! This was my dilemma when i bought my anni,TT is just to common/impracticle but S3 is very nice.Check out servicing costs on audi's aswell before jumping in!Also I think some people are getting there hopes up on getting a 'GOOD' anni for ?12k,Believe me some of the cheap ones are not that good IMHO[!]

Its hard to decide cause they are very different cars, if you want sports and power then go for the TT, if you want prestige, economy and a true crowd pleaser...then choose the golf!

S3 was a good suggestion, as its a happy medium!

The S3 is an option but its too stock looking for me.

Im gonna have to drive a anni i think cuz ive heard that they arent v good at handling. Ive got coilovers, strut braces etc on my current ride so im used to going quick round corners and rather like it...... :p

Go Anni pal, best way, round this neck of the woods(Bolton) TT's are like a ford focus, i.e everywhere.

Gf keeps saying that she gets looks from guys everytime when out in the anni, never happened on my old company car- 130tdi.

As for handling, try it djxl, its greeeeeat.

Personally, i would go for the anni but i guess im a wee bit biased!

Although they seem to be everywhere in Edinburgh. A silver one lives in my block and theres a silver over the road from my work and i see a black one every now and then. Am still waiting for me first red one! Tell me if im wrong but it seems strange that the standard paint colour appears to be the rarest!

[:I]I wish i could spell[:I][:D]

Totally different cars!!!

TT225 all the way... (and I don't like TTs)

PD150 would only be if you were watching the fuel economy!

How about a R32 there are plenty for sale & going cheap........[}:)][}:)][:p]

There would be the same depreciation problem with the R32 thats with the anni tho surely? Plus 19-20k is a bit too much really...

Exactly the choice I had to make when it came time to get rid of my last car. I came down on the side of an anniversary because at 13K or so it will only lose a 1/3 of its value in the time I own it. Add to that decreased running costs and it's the sensible choice.

The downside is most people look at the anniversary and see another MKIV, the TT is very rare where I live at the moment and of course has 4 wheel drive. A bonus in the snow, the Golf isn't driveable at the moment.

If I was making the choice over I'd go for a TT and remap and swallow the higher fuel bills.
