Hi all,, i thought i would just check my screenwash tonight which was fine,, but as i looked down into the engine bay there is a alloy cylinder sort of attatched close the the radiator,,on the left hand side,,, now its covered in green stuff and wet???

What is it?? my coolant is red and of the correct level,, in fact all my levels look ok,, possibly air con???

I tried to turn on the air con (which i can usually hear kicking in) but nothing??? does it not work unless its above a certian temprature outside?? its -10 here..

HELP,,,,

That's deffinately your air con gone. The green stuff is an oil they use to lube all the internal parts and seals

The green stuff is air-con dye that would of been put in the system so if any leaks are there is leaks out and can been seen with a UV lamp.

Do you have the digital AC or just the AC button?

AC on the Mk4 will only work if the ambient temperature is over 5 Celsius too.
