I just received this gas button which. Here below is the picture of the button. It has pins numbered 1-6.

1. If I wanted to hook it up just to some interioir lights would anyone have the wiring for that?
2. If I wanted to hook them up to my sub would anyone have the diagram for that?

gna give vw a call and see if i can get one?

part number looks like - 1j0 941 553

anyone with access to the vw interface know if these are available?
i got this from tm tuning. they have it for 40 us. not bad. any ideas how to wire this thing up?
I've got mine wired up to switch a reply for my WMI system, I can send you the wiring diagram if you want. One thing to note is that if you want the illumination to work properly i.e. red when your lights are on and then amber when it's pressed you will need to have it connected up so that the switched side is constantly pulled down to ground. I have mine wired to relay which then switches the 12V supply to my pump, not only does this mean your not putting large loads through the switch but also the relay provides the load to ground which means the illumination works properly.

have you got a link for the website?

and what did vw use it for?
Hey rscott4563

If you can hook me up with the "correct" wiring diagram that would be cool. Yes I do what it to illuminate properly for sure. Can you send it [email protected].

Did you ring vw?

40 US dollars is about £25.67

+1, what did VW use this for?! Is it actually from a mk4 Golf or another car of this sort of age?
Its from a Golf Mk4 originally used for Golf's that had LPG fitted from the factory. Think it might have been a German only thing.

The button is readily available from any VW dealer and is cheaper than ordering it from anywhere on the web.

No worries I'll dig it out and send you it tomorrow.
Hey I also heard read that if you run out of spots for buttons there is an replacement panel to accomadate to extra buttons. Anyone know what that is and where I can see it online?

can the button be used instead of the esp button and work in the same way and will it still light up?
No the ESP button is a momentary and the Gas button is latched.

There was an extra panel near the drivers knee but its only a LHD part and the switch holder can't be modded due to the curve of the dash - I already ordered one about three years ago to try. There was a Bi-Fuel LPG Golf in Germany

Also if you want a pushbutton switch (instead of on/off action) you can just unclip the faceplate off the GAS switch and put it on a different body like the ESP switch with the momentary action.
