My sister just bought a mk5 golf and its lowered at the front but when she hit bumps on the road the alloy seems to hit the arch [*-)]

would the springs make it do the rubbing cos its lowered too much?

Cheers andrew

if its lowered just on springs but with original tired shocks then that may cause it

its not so much the lowness, try uprating the shocks themselves

Is it actually the tyre contacting the arch or just sounds like it?

Reason being is that on the MK5 even modest lowering or having wheels with a chunky offset causes the front tyres to hit the screw on the arch liner, take out the screw in the liner in the middle top of the arch and then push the liner from the front to behind the securing tab, job sorted and no more rubbing noises [Y]
