What a pants day that has been!!! I was supposed to be changing the front and rear brake disks & pads
tried to change the front discs and pads on the golf and some complete IDIOT had stripped the thread the slider bolts on the drivers side so they had welded them in

we then managed to find a used complete suspension leg complete with hub,

got it fitted only to find Delphi had sent me 280mm front discs and the ones on the golf are 256mm, so new pads in old knackered discs on and didn't even get around to doing the rear

anyway my question is if I buy 1.8T hubs/suspension legs will the cv joint fit? and is there anything else I need to change, is the caliper the same or differant?

TIA

Wouldn't a 1.8T have 280 or 288mm discs too? What model is yours?

The 256mm hubs are different to the 280/288 ones as there's no separate hub carrier from memory. Callipers are certainly different.
256mm and 280mm and fixed carriers, hence the reason I want to upgrade to the 1.8T 288mm one's so I have seperate carriers, but can't believe nobody knows the answer to this

I'll just buy the parts and at worst change the cv joint to fit
just fit 1.8t hubs / brakes 288mm, everything else fits yes.

strut, balljoint, track rod end and shaft. just hubs and brake set up required
