How long did you own your car before you realised that you can take it down below horizontal by keeping the button pressed in? Hence allowing you to change gear without it getting in the way....

It took me 4 months to find out with mine!!!! [:I]

yes, you must have short arms. it's a pain, and a constant one at that. hence it only comes out on the motorway. then it's benefitial not only for the driver, but the passenger too.

From day one - wouldn't do without it!!! Wish the arm rest was even wider on the inside drivers door panel - so I could really get into sofa mode on the long hauls...

Pretty much straight away - spent hours in it when new going through handbook etc!

g/f doesn't like driving with it however, I have it down all the time.

Nah, just messing. I cant drive with it up, its got to be down, sat on the top click, it feels like part of my arm has been cut off if its not down.

& like Golf-Ball says, its great for the Gangsta lean []

Soz to jump in but mines an aftermarket armrest but never really had any probs when changing gear. Are they different?? Is mine a wannabe V-Dub armrest?? Pulling handbrake up is a little awkward but never lift it up because of it.

I cany use it for driving around town as i cant use the handbrake very well especially if you have a passenger

Ive owned mine for well over two years, and Im looking forward to trying this after work today now you have mentioned it.

Ive had it up (ooer) for two years plus, making it easier to change gear (I find it does get in the way a little) but very hard to get the map out of the back seat pocket or fetch anything from the back of the car.

I did however find the third sunvisor under the mirror within a couple of weeks. []

i always had it set at the lowest but now have got used to using it at a higher position... i can't stand it upright as my elbow bangs it Ouch!

I found it straight away!

I can only use it on motorway or if its late and there's no traffic - even with it down past horizontal i find it really awkward to use the handbrake.
