I am trying to work out which suspenion i want to put on my gti. however with so much available i am getting a little confused. i have seen the threads about koni shocks matched with h&r springs. This would work out around ?350 and would be a good setup. however after looking on the awesome website i have noticed that the fk coilover kits are in the same kind of price range! i always thought that coilovers were really expensive and had ruled out buying them completely.

however i would like to know if these coilovers would be better than the uprated spring and damper option handling wise?

Im after the same (FK Highsport) roughly priced around ?450-?500 i think but not 100% that these have height and stiffness adjustment....but as informed by Chaddy V6 will need a new Anti Roll Bar if going lower than 40mm!

im off around 2moro 2 get prices on fitting them.....as just bought new wheels yesterday and badly needs lowering! (see below!)

Are you sure they are Highsport? Because I just checked their site under the speical offeres and they are the FK 'AK' coilovers for ?359. Look here http://www.gwentvw.co.uk/php/VW/suspension/vw-coilcoverkits.php. I'd shop around if I were you.

My Highsports cost me ?100 to get fitted, inc alignment, didn't need a new arb.. you will.

Dont they only have height adjustment and not damper adjustment.

They are height only adjustment.

Had the highsports on my 1.8t for about 6 months now...... Much tighter in the turn and i dont even have an ARB yet [:(] Had the car slammed about 60mm initially but the ARB was fouling the driveshift so its sat about -45mm at the mo. Looks the muts nuts with spacers to fill the arches too. A really good "budget" option on suspension IMHO

If your going to Awesome remember to mention the forum for a potential discount and for labour it should be a 4 hour job ABSOLUTE max. i reckon 3 really.
