So I recently purchased some Audi A3 Recaro style seats for my golf, they fit the rails fine but the airbag plug is different to my previous seats.

I've heard that people have soldered the plug from their Golf seats to the Audi seats loom, but I'm struggling to find anywhere on the forums that explains which colour cable goes to which.

I have managed to dismantle the Audi plug and was hoping I could do the same with the golf plug and insert the Audi wires, which would save me messing around soldiering wires together.

Can anyone help me out as I'd like to get this finished ASAP

Images below of the plugs.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not too sure mate as they weren't listed as heated when I bought them, but that would make sense as there's not much else the plug could be for

According to my Bentley manual, there is an actual adapter for some of those airbags, I came across it last night. Maybe see if vw can still get them?

So I'm just doing my seats today, I've come across the exact same problem, my seats are from a 52 plate 2002, my golf is a Feb 2001, but same connector issue.

The thing I am trying to work out is how the pins come out the golf plug, as the audi one they slide out with a little tab on one side, but when you remove the golf pink connector cover there seems to be mother to actually depress to get the pins out?

yes golf needs to be depinned with one of those tools... what i normally do is break the connector completely get an empty audi plug and put them in there sorted... and if that doesn't work well you can just stick the pins in and than tape the lot up... less nice solution but it works.

As an update, I couldnt get the connectors off the old seats, so I thought makes sense to sell them with the connectors.

Managed to do a bit of research and it seems the connector that vw use is 6X0 972 783 , I've just ordered 2 and came to about £13! They dont come with any cables or pins, I did some digging on the internet and found on a different forum:

Connector on the golf seat 6X0 972 783

Connector in the golf on the floor 6X0 972 773

Then repair cables with the right wires on the end 000 979 132 EA

Apparently. We'll see Wednesday when VW get mine in.
