Hi

Managed to get an .:R32 Sunroof for my car off of ebay for only #10.50. Any one know of a place in the south east that i can get it fitted.

Also, if anyone has part numbers for the Sunroof control light switch? or even one for sale?

Thanks, all help appreciated

Hmmm would think if you haven't got a factory sun roof fitted already your looking at a new roof! or a nasty 80's glass lift number!

Dont think I would let ANYONE near my .:R, (if I had one) with a grinder. I would start with VW and find out if its even possible to retro fit a OEM sunroof.

It probably is, but as mentioned, will cost ???

To fit that little lot you're going to need a new roof as it isn't just a hole. The edge is folded down over and welded onto the inner skin of the roof which has a space for the sunroof assembly to sit inside. You will also need a new headliner. Not worth the effort in my opinion even as there is far too much work and cost involved. Probably be cheaper to go and find an R32 with a sunroof and part-ex yours against it!

as said above your going to need a lot of bits to do this - new headliner, roof, electrics for sunroof, paint for roof, welding and theres the possibility of future problems with fitting a new roof it really is not worth it !

Contacted VW yesterday, and asked them if they would fit a sunroof for me. The news wasnt good, basically the Dealer would not even undertake such a project, they mentioned that theres sunroof specialists that may do it, and would not look OEM, also, the extra parts needed for the job, apparently VW wont supply it.

So basically stuck doing it by a specialist and will no way look as good as factory fit, which i was after.

Anyone want a spare sunroof?
