Hmmm. I was thinking of a remap. How much does it affect the insurance though? (mine is already ?1000!)

Change the shocks - more power is useless if it still handles like a barge in a storm.......
my car was fine for the 2 months i had a remap before i went stage 2 with all the suspention and arbs sorted, bigger brakes etc [:D] i would def wanted the extra power with shoddy handling over great handling with not much power. but thats me.. im just power hungary and is the reason why i want a nice big eliminator turbo [y]

I would have said uprate the DV to a nice Forge, smooth the airbox and stick a Green panel filter in there!

Not as expensive an option as a remap and it will still feel better than standard! [:)]

I have been looking at the Hyperboost HX compact DV.

Would you say that one or the Forge? I think mine does need replacing as i think my Turbo stalls...

Me.... I'm going for suspension first. The golf/bora is pretty poor on the handling front and I reckon you'd enjoy pushing your 150 horses a lot more if you could chuck it into corners with out the fear of massive understeer and body roll.

Very close second though would be a re-map

The Hyperboost valves, i know nothing about mate, apart from Awesome sell them. They can't be that bad if Awesome sell them though.

And the reason i suggested Forge is because they are widely considered to be the best for the MK4. [:)]

You will find that the majority of the valves for Golf are silent as they are recirculating valves rather than the atmospheric dump valves traditionally used on other cars. This is because the atmospheric dump valve tends to throw up error codes on the other engine types, but not the AGU, but companies don't like to specialise to a specific engine type as this limits their potential market so they tend to be the recirculating valves.

If you still want the noise though it can be achieved with a Cold Air Induction kit as this produces this sound as well.
