I am well peed off now, I got stop by this mo-fo copper scum this morning and fined ?30 poxy quid for my windows...grrrrrrrr

Ok, I know that they are illegal and lots of you that have seen my car in the flesh have commented on it, but still, he could of just given me a warning etc... im sure, also he didnt ask me to remove them or anything

He done the test with his new 99p toy meter and the front read 81% but the driver/passenger was 20% and apparently should be 70%?

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Also as im a full time student with only ?164 income a month, am I expected to pay this fine within the 28 days or can I pay 5p a month like others seem to get away with?

Bummer! did they make you take the tints off aswel?

There have been a couple of articles in the papers regarding people being done for window tinting. At the moment different counties have different attitudes to window tinting, and not all have the measuring devices yet.

As for the fine. Do you get to pay half the fine if you pay quickly or will it double after the month? For a ?30 ine maybe you should just get it out of the way with and forget about it. I can't imagine the courts aregoing to let you pay in to low an installment as the fine is only ?30

Its been known that if the French bacon catch you with a radar detector, they either stamp on it or put it under your wheel and calmly ask you to drive over it [:'(].

I literally pulled out of the top of my road of ALL places, I had the drivers window right down, so they could only see the side/backs(which they said were fine)and I saw em, as soon as I drove past I heard em start up and knew as soon as I saw them turning round wot was happening next...

They had some girl in the back with a yellow jacket on who looked like she was on training, so I think the 'C' that gave me the ticket so 'showing her how it was done'

so no I ddint do anything to cause them to to stop me...

I dont know how much it would cost to have the front 2 re-done? as im planning to sell the car anyway, so may stick it on AT soon and see if it sells as it is, otherwise I shall put it back to standard and give it another go...

I think they should of given me the option to take them out or a warning, but id of probably refused to take them out anyway, I dont know when this law came in but its pathetic I can tell ya

Sometimes it makes me feel like id stabbed him in the neck, just to teach him not to be clever in giving me a ticket, as I felt he was 'making an example' of me, but when all said and done, I cant change wots happening think 'if only id left 10 mins later' etc... so rather than dwell on it i'll learn from it....to carry a knife at ALL times(joke)

I think for the sake of ?30 u will cause ur body/mind more damage stressing about it that just accepting it(im studying psychology at the mo)in the long run so...

Sorry, but I've got no sympathy whatsoever.

The law on window tints is clear enough (pardon the pun), and you know full well they are illegal. If you pulled out on someone due to not being able to see clearly in the dark/dusk and caused a serious accident, maybe the victim or their family would explain to you why the law is there.

What is a laugh though is there is nothing to stop people driving with shades on at night, which would be just as bad as having window tints.

You knew that they were illegal - look at it this way, you have got away with them uptill now.

Not meaning to be contravertial, but quite right by the police! It buggs the hell out of me that people are driving about using mobiles whilst driving, driving with "ILLEGAL" tints especially when they clearly know that these things are against the law! I removed mine as soon as the law came out about them and that is also when the insurance company told me they wouldn't insure me. Its also people like you who (as the tints are illegal) are driving with no insurance and are hiking up us law abiding citizens premiums. My only gripe with the police is that they should be charging more than ?30 and be clamping down on it more!![8o|]

get a grip, did your tints sudenly become a danger once the law changed, i dont think so, if we did every thing by the book driving would be a very very dull event indeed. i do a lot of miles in my golf and if i thought for a minuet that tints are dangerous then i would'nt put my 2 year old in the car with me.as for the police there a joke,some are ok, but 80% are jumped up money grabers with nothing better to do then get on the back off the easy target, the drivers.[]

As for the other comments, I cant see how its against the law, as matey said, if we all abide by the law then driving would be boring was RSholes, I can see people at junctions and yes 80%(if not more)of coppers are 'C's, damn straight!

Ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it just takes the P how coppers havent got anything better to do that pull people over who just going about their business, when if a big old fight was kicking off the coppers would wait until the worst is over before attending, tell me how thats fair? and its all down the individual copper, and their the worst offenders in most cases as ive seen!
