Just looking to buy oil and cabin filters for a service - eurocarparts has some reductions on so went there rather than GSF.

Have gone for Mann filters recently from GSF, but always liked Bosch batteries/leads (washing machine/dishwashers!) etc and they have Bosch at Eurocarparts. Anyone any experience of Bosch filters? Better than Mann?

Cheers

I use Bosch cabin filters, air filters, wipers, batteries etc etc. Main dealer use Mann filters. Genuine vw Oil filters are paraflux or some such make. It's personal preference really. I'm a massive fan of Bosch but tend to lean towards genuine for oil, fuel filters, plugs, coils etc.

From the research I did when deciding what manufacturer to go with, Mann came up as the OE supplier. Air filter and cabin filter I usually buy Mann but for the fuel and oil filter I go genuine as I find it's not much difference.

Although to answer your question it would have to be Mann over Bosch for me.

Euro car parts are having a 15% off sale btw so it might be cheaper to buy Mann from there

Mann every time for me I've been using them 40 odd years and never had a problem

. OEM factory supplier to VW Group for very many years. £2 Billion turnover company and specialise in all types of filtration

Bosh are excellent too but I think they trade on their brand name somewhat and consequently are usually a bit dearer than MANN

Incidentally as you mentioned Bosch batteries you might like to know they are actually "badged" versions of VARTA Batteries another well known and long established originally German company and supplied under the Bosch name

Used mann, bosch and genuine - they all seem to be very similar in quality, just comes down to price

I must say I was a little disappointed with an activated carbon cabin filter by Bosch. It raplaced a Valeo OEM filter which felt a lot more sturdy whereas the Bosch one didn't keep its shape as well when any pressure was applied around the edges.

Hi,

That price is with the Carbon filter.

The quote supplied is for the BCB engine, other engines may use a different air filter.

Thanks
