Right, got a few probs with my car so the other morning took loz to the train station in her Pug 106!, drove to work in the '68 Beetle, then spent the evening in my mums Civic (no new shape).

Pug 106 - Felt way too big to drive it, thought that if i crashed id probably get badly hurt and naff inside!

'68 Beetle - Slow & Low! love driving it.

Civic - Are they made for short people? seem to be almost sat on the road but head still by the roof and top of dash board is just above my belly button. Proper naff inside but handles great and is fast!

Sat in my golf and instantly fell in love with her again!, specially when i turned the lights on. Recaros are so comfy compared to the other 3 cars and actually feel safe sat in them. great driving position for me, pedals where i want them and specially after seeing peoples crashes on here (deadlock, andy ran etc) i feel confident in it!

Also, Ive decided tints are a must as i felt very in the open in the other cars as none had tints.

agree with you there mate. my missus drives a 98 Corsa and I feel well vunerable in the passenger seat, the thing feels like its made of tin, plus its got a small shelf thing below the glovebox which I feel certain would cut my legs in two below the knee if we ever have a front end smash [B)]

got to agree with you, I drove my 205 diesel to work this morning in 2" of snow and did not feel safe at all. Doesn't feel like there is enough metal round me to protect me from anything.

you have a 4wd car why not use that instead of risking yourself ?

I think I would feel safer in the 106 than in the Beetle. I think you are right though, when I drive the Misses Ka I feel intimidated by other drivers.

I drive the other halfs Ka occasionally.. I can't believe the amount of force you have to put on the brake pedal just to get it to stop.... SO different to my golf.

Probably didn't want to risk his R, you having total traction is fine but what about the other nutters on the road. Also at the end of the day even with 4wd you can't defy the laws of physics.

My other half used to have a Fiesta XR2i and after driving my TDI she said she felt a lot safer in the Golf and it had a lot more room inside as well. So we switched cars..........2 weeks later she is driving round in TDI of her own, even got one the same colour as mine cos she liked it so much.

another convert.

Yep, the ex-girlfriend has a Citroen AX and i told her to sell it and get something stronger....it was really poor, Saxos feel a little better but the Lupo that she got felt much better.

Got to agree with you though Joey, the MKIV does make you feel very safe....especially after seeing some "bumped" ones on here.
