hi all

i run a company called incar auto electrical, i have been installing alarms and accessories for about 8 years now

im trying to see if there is enough interest in developing a plug and play loom to upgrade your factory fitted alarm.

the standard alarm is good enough imo to cover the vehicle for theft and someone breaking in but does not cover you if:

1) somebody steals your wheels (tilt sensor)

2) another driver hits your car while trying to park (shock sensor)

3) someone trys to break the window and doesnt smash it on the first attempt (glass break sensor)

i intend to add a shock sensor, tilt sensor and a glass break sensor to my car hopefully this weekend, weather permitting.

my main question is

How many people would be interested in a plug and play option on these extra sensors?

if i can get enough interest i may be able to get something made from my manufacture

could we have a show of hands so i can gauge interest obviously no comitment at this point

there are about 10 people so far that have registered there interest after reading this thred

http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/300967/ShowPost.aspx

obviously will will need a few more to make this happen so i am trying to raise awareness

if the plug and play is not feasable i will be offering a hard wire option with a how to guide

thanks for your time

regards

damien

Hi Damian

Read the other post where you first suggested this idea. In principle, I'm interested especially in the tilt sensor as I wouldn't want a repeat of someone like Rob who unfortunately got his Anniversary alloys stolen. Just a couple of questions for you:

- has the over-sensitivity issues been sorted yet as you mentioned in your initial thread?

- will such an upgrade void the manufacturer's or dealer's warranty?

Many thanks and I think its good of you to bring this idea to the forum.

I'm well interested in this, especially if you dont have to splice into
existing vehicle wiring etc. It gives us all a fighting chance if
we're within earshot of our cars and some opportunist wants a piece of
of it! And also grabs your attention if kids bang the ball
against the car...

Hi Damian

Read the other post where you first suggested this idea. In principle, I'm interested especially in the tilt sensor as I wouldn't want a repeat of someone like Rob who unfortunately got his Anniversary alloys stolen. Just a couple of questions for you:

- has the over-sensitivity issues been sorted yet as you mentioned in your initial thread? personally im not going to fit a prox/microwave sensor to my car as the factory fitted ultra sonic sensors inside will cover internal movement. these sensors do still suffer with over/under sensitivity probs with hot/cold weather

- will such an upgrade void the manufacturer's or dealer's warranty? not 100% sure on that but i cant see the plug and play option being a problem at all with warranty. i think the warranty is normally affected if you cut into any of the factory looms.

to be honest id be prepaired to take the chance argueing with a dealer about the warranty than trying to get the police to do anything once ya wheels are gone...... as per robs thred

Many thanks and I think its good of you to bring this idea to the forum. cheers hopefully we can get enough members interested

Yep I'm interesetd

Will it be psossible to offer a tilt and/or microwave???
hopefully if this all works out i will be able to offer you a choice

1) plug and play loom + 1 sensor of your choice

2) plug and play loom + 2 sensors of your choice

3) plug and play loom + 3 sensors of your choice
