nice to see you all again, and some new faces!

for once we did things a bit different and... went inside [:D]

nice turnout of cars, and all good, quality examples too. as per usual we had the bristol meet comedy moments and also got a few ideas laid out for little events to add some spice.

looking forward to the next meet already, hopefully it'll be perfect weather too.

hope you all got home ok! [:)]

Great meet! Indeed they are all Volkswagens, except for Rich's Nova based Bora. Nice Bodykit! [:p]

Some pics! Unfortunately I have forgotten some names, so in fairness I will not publish any names until I can get them all matched up to pictures, thus not offending anyone! [:'(] Please PM me with your name and car details so I can match you up to your picture![<)]

Afternoon ladies and gents. Apologies for my blatent non-attendance today, but I only got up 2 hours ago after a rather heavy night out in Cheltenham [+o(]. Disappointed I didn't make it as I wanted to show off my new driver's door mirror - this one has the right colour blue paint on it [:D]

If it's any consolation, my parents were shopping down at Cribbs and said they'd seen "a load of nice Golfs parked up by the cinema".

Ok....as many of you know we are going to try and make something special out of the Bristol meets. It has been suggested, and agreed that we should meet on the 1st Sunday of each month, and that we should alternate meetings between a meal and a special event. I.e. Meal, Special Event, Meal...etc. [<)]

Suggested ideas for the special event meets include the following: Paintball, Go-Karting, Bowling, Cinema, Haunted House Tour and a Rolling Road day in Newport! Any other suggestions welcome and invited!

Therefore 3rd July will be the start of the new style meets. This will start with a "Meal" meet, which will allow people to socialise and get to know each other a little more. The group will book into a resturant in Bristol (Harvester, Beefeater etc), ideally we wont have to pay a deposit so we can book what we need without the problems of obtaining money from people. Some Meals or Special Events may require a booking fee (location charge, not forum charge), and it has been suggested that the event organiser (to be elected) have a paypal account to take the deposits from attendees.

IMPORTANT: This new style of meets will only work providing that people who put their name forward for events actually turn up!!!!!!! It will not work if we book 3 tables, and only 5 people turn up, not only will that waste our time but it will also make us unpopular with the resturant!! Therefore if you say you are coming, please come!!! [H]

Dont get me wrong sometimes genuine things will happen that will prevent you getting to a meet, but these should be the exception and not the norm! Please dont say you will attend if you are just a "maybe"!. []

Right now the boring, strict bit is out of the way...where shall we eat, and more importantly...who is coming??? [:D] [pi]

V6's sound better[;)]

Thanks for a good meet[Y] Was nice to put faces to names and see who I've been chatting to on MSN for so long!

Just as I was getting onto the M5 to go home I pulled up alonside a Mk 3 Golf CL "Turbo". No mods, except a turbo badge[]. Unfortunately for him his "turbo" wasn't good enough[:D]

I'll do my best to attend again, but with my shifts it isn't easy - I only get 1 in 4 weekends guaranteed and only know my shifts 2 weeks in advance. It's a bloomin nightmare to try and plan, but I'll definitely attend again when I can!

I like the karting idea, although have never been go-karting before[:$] I did feel today that it was a little easier once we went inside and by having meals in the future it will allow us to get to know each other a bit more and talk about other stuff than Golfs.

Good pics too Mike! And the car looks well smart! They all did, but Mike's really stood out to me[H]

Weston sounds good! Arcades on the pier indeed do sound rather good. We'd get a lot of chavs and chavettes to laugh at in there too!
